Where do I begin? When we arrived, the annoying night receptionist (sorry for being mean, but he doesn't speak A WORD of English so he wouldn't understand it even if he did give a damn about his poor service) tried to trick us into paying double the price we booked online. Now, like every classic too-cheap-to-be-good "boutique" hotel it has plenty of visual appealing yet extremely not useful (and even uncomfortable) features. It starts from the huge staircase to the first floor which was two times longer than necessary (no elevator, of course), continues with the ridiculous open TV space between the bathroom and the bed (really? How could it be a good idea?) and ends with the terrible shower design, which literally caused a flood that even reached my suitcase. We went downstairs and asked for something to clean it up with and all we got was a dirty mop.||Yes, a plain curtain and a different shower head wouldn't looked as "boutique" but they would have solved the problem easily. As if it was not enough, the sheets were poorly tucked and even had a weird black paint/oil stain on them....
Read moreA really unique property in a fabulous area . The hotel is set up more like a B&B or a private accommodation. There was a separate secure private entry on the side of the building, making it feel like going to an apartment building . My room was cozy and compact with very atmospheric rustic decor . It’s a little more “ practical “ than esthetically appealing, but functional and comfortable enough. There was no A/C and the TV lacked any English language channels. The bathroom was really cool looking but a little less comfortable in use. The water handle for the sink was broken & the force of the water when turned on ( even in the slightest ) over shoots the bowl. The location of the hotel is super nice , on the edge of Polanco , in a residential neighborhood with just enough immensities to make it easy . Would gladly stay again , but perhaps in a different room . The staff is super pleasant , speaking perfect English and are...
Read moreCasa Anzures is not our type of accomodation, we appreciate the hotel feel and service. The property felt like a hostel. Here each room is different. Yes, every room has a theme and you get different decoration and styles. Our room was the "Industrial Room". Our room bathroom was horrible, it felt like a prison. The shower was broken, you had to decide showering either extremely cold or extremely hot. The room was small and cozy (no air conditioner), it had a small balcony. The restaurant was average, but we were offered a barbacoa taco that was absolutely amazing. The location is good because is near Polanco. Staff was friendly and treated us like a hotel. They did not had a room to held our luggage before check in.||||PROs: not far from Polanco||||CONs: if you appreciate hotel feel this is not your place, bathroom experience...
