I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Camino Real in Mexico City, and I am utterly captivated by the sheer brilliance of its unique architecture. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was transported into the rich cultural heritage of Mexico. The hotel's architecture is nothing short of a masterpiece, and every corner seems to tell a story. The exterior design is a harmonious fusion of contemporary elegance and traditional Mexican elements, creating a visually stunning and culturally rich ambiance. The use of vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and indigenous materials reflects a deep appreciation for the country's artistic heritage. Upon entering my room, I was greeted by a breathtaking view that perfectly encapsulated the beauty of Mexico City. The architects have skillfully incorporated large windows and balconies, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the vibrant energy of the city while enjoying the comfort of their luxurious accommodations. One of the highlights of the architecture is the meticulous attention to detail in the interior spaces. The fusion of modern amenities with traditional Mexican design elements creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The use of local artwork and handcrafted furniture adds a personal touch, making each space within the hotel feel like a curated gallery. The central courtyard is a true oasis within the bustling city. The open-air design, surrounded by lush greenery and accented with artistic sculptures, provides a serene escape. It's a perfect spot to unwind and appreciate the thoughtful design that allows guests to connect with nature while still enjoying the convenience of a central location. The architectural brilliance extends to the hotel's restaurants and lounges, each boasting a unique design that complements the culinary experience. Whether dining in the vibrant courtyard or savoring a cocktail with a panoramic view of the city, every space is thoughtfully designed to enhance the overall guest experience. In addition to the visual delight, the functionality of the architecture deserves praise. The layout is intuitive, and the seamless integration of modern technology enhances the overall comfort and convenience of guests. Overall, my stay at Hotel Camino Real was a delightful experience, largely due to the awe-inspiring architecture that sets this hotel apart. The designers have managed to create a space that not only meets the highest standards of luxury but also celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of Mexico. If you're seeking a hotel that seamlessly blends modern comfort with a unique architectural charm, Hotel Camino Real is the perfect choice. Read moreAlthough this place is older, it still has great bones. I stayed there on business with a sports team for a few days. My room was clean, and the a/c worked fairly well. There is a decent gym located on the first level near the pool area that had some free weights, stationary bikes, treadmills, and a few other options. It's located in Polanco, which is fairly safe and walking distance to several points of interest, restaurants, stores, etc. I ate several times at the same restaurant on property to maintain consistency for my stomach. La Huerta is one of a few places to eat on property. They open at 6 for breakfast and close at midnight. You can order ala carte or eat the buffet. Either way, the food is prepared nicely and has good flavor. I had the spaghetti bolognese twice, and then had salmon another time. Each time there was plenty of choices of either pasta, rice, or other starches.
The lobby area is maintained nicely, and staff are always cleaning the common areas. I complimented the staff for their hard work. Kindness is free and appreciated by anyone. Make it a point to compliment folks on a job well done. For transportation matters you can call Uber or the outdoor valet folks can call a cab from street level to take care of you. They also have a parking garage. I am not aware of what the cost is. I recall a lobby bar on the right once you walk into the main lobby area. Upstairs there are a few choices for food, and morning coffee. I did not explore too much upstairs, but they might have some large conference rooms in those areas.
The artwork in the lobby, exterior and throughout is cool. I did notice that on the 3rd floor, some of the large windows to the property are left open for air to get in. This may not be a good thing for visitors NOT used to the air here. Mexico City has a pollution problem, and the air quality is often bad. This can cause many issues such as breathing, headaches, nausea, sore throat, etc. Take it seriously. The elevation is over 7,300 feet, and if you get altitude sickness it won't be pretty.
The hotel has several smaller gift shops that sell tequila, and other fine spirits. Overall, this place was good. The staff helped me with coordinating transportation logistics for my team. They went above and beyond. The time to the airport is about 25 minutes off-peak, and 45 peak hours. That would depend on what's going on in the city. Mexico City is a monster of a city. There is so much to do there. Keep in mind the traffic which is bad most of the day. Lots of places to visit, and...
Read moreIts been almost a year and I still have digestive issues because of the poison they served me here !!They served me NON food Grade Ethanol here!!! On may 24, 2024 I had my graduation party here. During the parte we were given the bottles of alcohol that we purchased beforehand and handed to the event managers. When the alcohol was recived my father told me that the bottle that I bought for him which is his favorite and drinks regularrly tasted odd and decided not to take it. I ignored his warning and drank anyway. It was a terrible mistake, after 4 cups the bottle was already finished because the waiter was takeing the bottle away from the table and serving the drink without me seeing. After those drink I blacked out and dont remember a thing. I had the worst hang over of my life on which I vomited uninteruptedly from 1pm to 4am. Aditionally the hang over lasted 3 whole days. I dont think, 4 cups should be able to do that to a 26 year old male I belive the staff of this hotel put something on my drink or the drink was manipulated from the start. Either way, the alcohol I bought was not what I drank and I felt as if I had been poissoned Update may 30, 2024 I still feel ill, the beverage I consumed here harmed my stomach very badly. I already posted here the doctor note from yesterdays visit as the symptoms havent finished fading. Im get suden rapid heart palpitations, severe headaches, Even after a week since the event I have been needing to go vomit from time to time throughout the day. I cant sleep because of the shame these pigs made me go through Update June 1st 2024. I made a formal complaint to the hotel upper management. At first the lady tried to question the validity of my claim, however she soon realized I was not lieing. She told me the hotel would contact me again to update me on what they did about my case they never did. It's officially been a week since I got poissoned here and I'm still sick. I've visited several doctors and they have all said the same thing. The most likely substance to have been consumes must have been non food grade ethanol. So to any American reading this, imagine drinking a non edible version of everclear. Update June 7 I'm finally having a break from the symptoms. My stomach is still upset but I can go along my day just fine. Today I talked again with the staff and they assured me that there were matters taken on the situation. They told me the staff was rotated and that they don't condone this sort of conduct. I'm glad they did something about it and I hope this story never...
