We were drawn by this restaurant's spectacularly detailed and beautiful facade. We passed it many times as our hotel was nearby so we started referring to it as "the facade" saying we had to eat at the facade before the end of our trip. We finally made it the last morning before our flight. Inside "the facade" the interior walls were painted with murals depicting scenes of nuns. The waitresses and kitchen staff were dressed like nuns as well. We thought wait -- did this place used to be a historic convent? Is it a theme? Or are these real nuns who run a restaurant to raise money for the church? Do they live upstairs is the rest of the building a convent? Or is it just an interesting gimmick? Whatever the case, our breakfast was pretty delicious (except for maybe the instant coffee... but I take it this place isn't known for their coffee!). It wasn't until after eating when we were leaving the restaurant we even noticed "the facade" is actually named "Las Monjitas", which I had to look up because this vocabulary hadn't come up while studying Spanish language in public school. Las Monjitas translates to "The Nuns". Now we can't stop talking about how we ate at The Nuns this was definitely one of the highlights...

Instead of asking if we enjoyed our meal - which we did not - food was bland and the plate that was supposed to have chicken, barely had any chicken found, more tostadas than...
