Casa Don Julian — Hotel in Oaxaca

This was a beautiful stay in an excellent location. Close enough to the action of centro/zocolo (5-10 minute walk) without being noisy. This is a place you will get an excellent sleep! The beds are so comfortable. I have stayed in at least a dozen places in Oaxaca and Casa Don Julian is my hands down favorite! It is spotless clean! Everything is brand new, this is a rarity in Oaxaca. It is new and modern but still feels true to Oaxaca because it is in a gorgeous Colonial building. The design is very clean and bright and I felt right at home. It is really spacious with high ceilings. Dulce the owner goes above and beyond and is the queen of hospitality! She has done such an excellent job on this project, and is the perfect person to give wonderful advice on all the things to see and do in magical Oaxaca. She helped arrange a car service from the airport and provided answers/suggestions for all of our questions about Oaxaca. The location is on the same block as a world bakery.
