I actually slept the entire day here because it was quiet and respectful. What really stood out was how awesome the host was. He was very good. . Very accommodating anything you needed he was there to help. I went to other hostels that just didn't have the vibes of this place and their hosts were non-existent, but this man is very hard working and goes beyond the normal to help and provide for the guests. Also the women working were very nice and kept the place quite clean. There was smoking areas, a patio above, multiple showers, a cooking commune area, with refrigerator to keep your stuff. Was a great patio below with a water pool for fish and plants, seating area to meet other travelers from all over the world, who had great stories. I feel like the host understood traveling, he added extras that were not offered in other places, like keeping your stuff there even after the hours of check out, which was important for me as my flight back was very late, I was able to store my things there. Also my bus arrived very early in the morning, I slept in the bus station for a couple hours and I was able to check in at 7 which I very much appreciated because it had been a very long eventful night and it was nice to be able to enter the hostel and decompress. I didn't lock anything up and had zero problems. It was a comfortable stay and I appreciated the...
Read moreThis hostel is very very basic. Our room was so basic that it was almost ugly. I personally took it as irrespectful from the owner's side to treat the travellers like that. We have been travelling around the world now for more than 18 months and stayed in a huge amount of hostels in more than 50 countries, but this hostel is one of the worst. You can't afford a normal mirror in a bathroom? Really? You can't get a fridge in the kitchen younger than a 100 years? Are you serious? The pond they have inside has never been cleaned I guess, it's full of mosquitos. So, don't be surprised if you get dengue staying in this hostel. They don't have any repellant to offer to their guests, having this pond full of rain water and in the middle of dengue season. In the room almost no light, no windows, feeling like you are underground. It's just irrespectful towards the travelers. The owner comes to the Terrace, seeing you there and showing she is not noticing you. Not even saying good morning. Disgusting, really. No ambience. No cozynesz. Nothing. Everything old, rust and cheap. This hostel is for bogabundos, not for...
Read moreWe are a couple from Spain and France. We decided to stay here because of the nice reviews.
The second day we GOT STOLEN from our private room 240$ in cash. The room was locked and the only person who enter the room was the cleaning service. Above all, we were never informed that someone would come to our room everyday to change the toilet trash so we couldn't take extra security precautions besides locking our room with keys. We are very used staying in hostels and it is not very common the cleaning service enters private rooms everyday, without letting you know so it took us by surprise.
We contacted the owner and informed about the situation. He said he asked his staff and deny the theft so that was good enough for him to say is non of his responsibility. No further help from his side, besides suggesting that we go to the police to put a claim (how useful).. very disappointing..
The owner implied we didn't know how much money we had with us and that nothing was stolen. We would have never raised the issue if we were...
