MUSEO DE ARTE CONTEMPORANEO DE OAXACA — Attraction in Oaxaca

Oaxaca has many great galleries, museums and art places. But this one was special. Modern, funky, engaging, sets itself apart from so many others that I visited. Each gallery and place was wonderful and had it's own style, just as this one did. The collections are beautifully displayed and the building itself captures the imagination. With everything old and new juxtaposed I felt blessed to be travelling in this amazing part of Mexico. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly....

There were two exhibits separated by two floors. The first floor was a bit over our heads - a series of videos in spanish w/English subtitles, but felt you really needed to understand the culture to appreciate. The second floor was an art exhibit. It was good. We only showed half in hopes you check the other half out. It was the better half by far!

El lugar es hermoso y las obras que están expuestas son diversas e interesantes, sin embargo, hace unos días atrás fui con mis amigos de visita al museo, pero no fue muy grata la experiencia, porque en la primera planta había una pareja de jóvenes quienes al parecer trabajan en el museo, nos estuvieron siguiendo en todo el momento a cualquier sala a la que entrábamos mis amigos y yo, eso nos hizo sentir muy incomodos, al igual nos hizo pensar que nuestra presencia no era grata, cabe recalcar que habían más personas observando las obras pero a ellos no los seguían como a nosotros. Realmente no entiendo sí fue por nuestra apariencia o es un protocolo del museo, nunca dimos razones sospechosas para ocasionar dicho seguimiento, respetamos en todo momento las indicaciones que nos dio el joven de la recepción (el único que fue amable), espero puedan mejorar ese aspecto porque visitar un museo debería ser una experiencia que disfrutes, no una experiencia...
