HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Update April 2025:
I came across this hotel a few years back when I was changing hotels here every couple of days in order to try a whole lot of hotels. You see, in Mexico, irregardless of price some hotels will have really hard beds. And so I sit out to find hotels in Puebla that had really comfortable beds. This hotel is so fantastic on so many levels. For its price point, in my opinion, it is absolutely one of the best hotels and all of Mexico. It was once a convent. Fell into disuse. Was remodeled in the 2000’s. The presidential suite is gorgeous and in my opinion is a true bargain. The showers are great. There is plenty of room for your stuff. The beds are comfortable. The towels are great. The staff is great. If I was asked if there was anything that they could do to improve, I would probably say no, it’s perfect. Highly recommended. I’m going to try to post photos and videos so cross your fingers.
If you get the presidential suite (and you should), don’t panic if cold water comes out of the shower setting for “hot”. It just takes a longer while for the hot water to reach the room, as opposed to Room 1, for example.
Previous Comments: Great room, great bed, great staff, great location. If it is in your price range, you will be well, pleased. At this point in time, I find myself thinking “I don’t want to stay anywhere else when I come to Puebla”.
The bed in Room 2 is so comfy, I could cry. I slept til 10 one morning
This trip I’ve taken in January of 2024, well, it’s like this. One of the challenges in Mexico is/are hard as concrete hotel beds. And it doesn’t matter the price of the hotel room, as many places buy the harder mattresses because they last longer. I checked out a hotel here in the $250 price range and the bed was like concrete so cost isn’t a factor.
The place that we always stayed here in Puebla closed. We found a good hotel back in October, but I decided to return for two weeks and change hotels every two days in order to try a bunch. And in addition, I visited many more to check out the rooms and beds.
Hotel Milo connects all the dots. It is probably the hotel we will stay at from now on. I’m so happy that it was one of the hotels that I short listed to try out for two nights.
Warm water in the shower (first night) in January, one of the colder months here. I talked the great staff. They increased the water temperature and the next day, showering, was fantastic. Hot and terrific water pressure. I love this hotel.
The terraza is gorgeous....
Read moreI so much want to rate this hotel a '5', but I can not.||The hotel is well situated in Puebla, an easy walk to the zocalo and the Museo Amparo. There are wonderful restaurants all around it. The architecture is marvelous, a renovated colonial mansion, very well done. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff are truly lovely and work hard to make sure your stay in pleasant.||But... there are two foundational issues that cause me to pause, issues that bring back an answer of 'no' to the ultimate question; "Would you stay there again?"||First and foremost, the hotel uses some sort of laundry method that treats their sheets and towels, I suppose for extra sanitation. Good, but it smells foul. Reminds me a bit of seaweed that's been washed ashore for a while. Not good. Makes your shower and rest less pleasant. We asked them to replace our sheets and towels, and they did, but maybe only 50%, as the scent lingers. Now, you might ask, why did we stay? Well, after the first couple of nights, you begin to get used to it, and the burden of shifting to a new hotel outweighs the discomfort.||Second, speaking of showers, the hot water takes ages to start. If you want a warm shower (not a hot one), you will have to let the shower run for at least 10 minutes before it becomes something other than cold. A sad waste of water for sure. And the worst part, even after all that, you're not guaranteed a hot shower.||So, alas, a '4' still, but we'll not return unless these issues are sorted, and surely...
Read moreI’ve had two nights now at the Milo Collection Hotel and am loving this hotel.||Great room, great cushy bed, bathrobes, thick towels, good WiFi and tech (Alexa to control tv, ac, etc.), great staff, great location. If it is in your price range, you will be well pleased, I think.||At this point in time, I find myself thinking “I don’t want to stay anywhere else when I come to Puebla”.||This trip I’ve taken in January of 2024, well, it’s like this.
