Most exciting and memorable 3.5 weeks of my life!
I usually travel solo, It's just my style. I meet the most fascinating people all over. I have the freedom to go when and where as I please at my own leisure. It is important to me that I able to enjoy my stay in a manner in which I am accustomed to or better. I want to experience what the locals do on a regular basis, to truly see how life would be as if I actually lived there. After learning so much from friends and literature about San Miguel de Allende, my time had come to see what it was all about. My stay at Casa Cinco Patios allowed me all the amenities of the local flare I was hoping for. The location is perfect. It is set on the hill overlooking the city. I was within minutes walking distance to the enjoy all the city has to offer. It was easy to catch a taxi, both day and night, if ever I did not want to walk down or back up. But I most often chose to walk. I felt safe all the time. I couldn't wait to get back home at Casa Cinco Patios, and relax while watching the most amazing sunsets, which I must inform you, can only be appreciated from the hill looking over the city and mountains in the backdrop. I live in a spacious one bedroom condo in the French Quarter in New Orleans, with a plush courtyard I enjoy from my balcony. Casa Cinco Patios definitely made me feel like I had all could ever ask for and more. If ever you get a chance to go to San Miguel de Allende, make it worth you while and stay there. My original plans were to stay just 12 days, however, I extended my stay twice and stayed 3.5 weeks :) November 18th - December 13th. Say hi to Antonio and Lecha. And don't ever miss the...
Read moreThe location is very good. Far enough from the busy town center, but a very close walk. It's a steep walk back to the hotel from the center and there are stairs required at this property so keep that in consideration if you have any mobility issues. ||||The common areas are lovely. The patios and the gardens are a delight.||||I was the only guest at the B&B the weekend I was in town. I stayed in the room that was directly up the low stair case from the kitchen area. The room was fine. Standard amenities for the price that I paid. The room does not have black out shades and it's a full wall of windows, so if you like to sleep in a dark room, this one isn't for you. ||||Keep in mind that SMA tends to be more expensive compared to surrounding towns due to its high level of tourism and expat community. ||||The bathroom was in need of a refresh. The whole room just seemed tired and stained and well worn and not in keeping with the rest of the property. I didn't have any soap in my bathroom and the shower flooded the floor every time I took at shower.||||||Big points for the super cute Westies who live on the property and are very friendly. ||||No experience with the breakfast as I had to leave early one morning and the other I only had fruit.||||Given the price that I paid, I probably would look for another location in SMA for...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed in this great house over long weekend. We were going to stay just 2 nights but we love the place, that much, we decided to stay 4. It was perfect. Cozy, had everything we needed and close to town for a great price. Not to mention how great Antonio and Lee were with us. Both very nice, easy going people, you don't get that kind of hospitality from a regular Hotel.. Super close to the main square and a very comfortable big room. Breakfast was very good and we love Benito and Max the 2 little friendly dogs. We love the view and the decoration of the whole house. Super mexican style, just what we were specting to find in San Miguel Allende.|| We will definatly be back and recommend to anyone else who is...
