This is not a 4-star hotel, it's a 3-star hotel. Analysis of our stay:

Con's: "Standard" room was dark and musty with almost no natural light. Hotel was at very low occupancy but we were given a room next to the restaurant / hallway entrance / stairs. For sure, this is one of the nosiest possible rooms in a hotel with 40% occupancy. Maybe do something nice and give a desirable room versus one you want to get rid of when the hotel is near empty? The pool is NOT heated, despite claiming this amenity even on the room entry cards. Pool was poorly maintained and no water pumps were flowing water into the filters. Staff attempted to vainly sweep leaves from the cloudy pool water when we escalated, but as an amenity highlighted in every photo and website for the hotel - it was beyond disappointing. There was also no beverage or food service at the pool until we escalated twice. Don't advertise an amenity that is just for photos. Photos of the pool area also make it look like there is a jacuzzi, this is just a shallow children's pool. If you're coming for the pool - I wouldn't bother. Pool has an extensive stocked bar and music system with zero staff or music. The gym is small, cramped, and in questionable condition. Ridiculously high breakfast prices with mediocre quality. Walk one block to amazing cafes and have a great experience instead.

Pro's: Location: Near centro but not in the crazy narrow streets. Near many great restaurants. Location was fantastic. Valet parking service was excellent, safe, and secure. Super friendly and helpful with our luggage without being pushy about tips. Front desk staff provided a generous early check-in, albeit with one of the worst rooms in the hotel as a trade-off (?) The staff attempted to address the obvious swimming pool issues so points for "trying" -- but net is that the pool is very poorly maintained with hopes no-one will notice. Shower had great pressure and hot water. Towels were of "normal" / average quality. Bed was very comfortable and good quality. Cleaning was good, room was clean. : ) Bar service was helpful and good -- just clearly not managed to serve the pool area - while at the same time prohibiting outside food and drink in the pool area. Note to management: Maybe just make your life easier and allow a bag of chips and a Modelo in the pool area and you won't have to pay for bar service in the pool area.

Net, this hotel is a real mixed bag. I'd advise the hotel's management rather than copy / paste a response here - to instead work to have the quality property that you advertise as the hotel has many...

This property has so much potential but fails miserably to deliver. Very interesting layout and décor which looks great on the surface but falls flat as a guest. Food buffets (breakfast and dinner) are disjointed, not great food choices and terrible (weak) coffee; unfriendly wait staff (especially supervisor) hover and remove plates before finished eating, continually. The rooms are large which is nice but with lots of problems, (1) table lamp was shorting and when reported to front desk, "Laurel & Hardy" came to the room to fix it but instead end up blew a fuse for the whole room and they didn't know how to reset the breaker/fuse to turn power back on; ended up taking the lamp out of the room, never to return, (2) no refrigerator or coffee/tea in room, (3) sewer smells in the toilet room, (4) nowhere to hang towels for easy access getting out of the shower (other than on the floor), (5) good sized flat TV but no HD service with 3 English language channels (CNN, Fox News and BBC) at least plus lots of Mexican choices of course (6) water (toilet & sink) was unavailable for a period in many (all?) rooms.||My room and it seems half the rooms of the property have terrible locations with frosted (sealed) windows to feel like in a jail cell with only a small sliding window that allows a small view of bushes only. The other side of the property (inner location) has pool views, patio and/or balcony.||They need to do...

Really not a lot to say positive, but their margaritas taste good, but they come in a very small glass about 6ozs. If you try to order a larger one, they refuse. The room was just standard the bathroom sub para. Discovered a lot of water damage because the faucet head was either worn out or missing a washer, causing water to spray everywhere except the shower it's self. Notified management and hotel staff several times, but no one ever fixed it. ( This was done on the behalf of tring to protect the hotels interest). While sitting outside around the pool, I tried to enjoy a cigar but was made to put it out while others smoked cigarettes, vapes, and at one time some young couple enjoying some Marijuana. The other thing I experienced was Mexican nationals made the request things were prompt. For example, I waited in the restraunt area with my family for over an hour and never got served two simple dishes a bowl of soup and chicken flatuas. Upon trying to inquire about why our concerns were negatively by a manager and we left to go eat down the street. At the time of ordering the food, there were 4 tables occupied, and three of those had already been served. Additional customers came in after we had ordered, received their food, and finished it. I definitely would not...
