Stone Chapel | — Hotel in San Miguel de Allende

Based on promises made and advertising offered, we found most of our needs and expectations were found in this ample, spacious, comfortable home away from home – with only a ten minute walk to the center of town! There were some exceptions that affected us the most, but to a large degree, satisfactory. This place offered a fabulous Town skyline view and mountain side view; a Bathroom in each room, plus a parlor room; large main living area, with an expansive balcony and view; but no Cleaning products (laundry detergent) yet an in unit Laundry with washer/dryer; too minimal of bath towels, bed sheets, barely any soaps and a minimal amount toilet paper – almost ran out; great Bed linens; few extra pillows and blankets – but the beds were really, really hard; slow Internet/Wifi and 80" HDTV in living area and bedrooms, one of which (the master bedroom TV) did not work; They advertise a full Kitchen with Refrigerator, Microwave, Pots and pans, oil, salt and pepper, dishes and silverware, bowls, chopsticks, plates, cups, etc.- they were in limited amounts (for being a large Suite of 3 bedrooms, i.e. up to 6 people minimum, only max of 4 people will have service wear); there is a Dishwasher; Stove and Oven; Coffee maker and drip coffee maker; glasses; a Toaster; the Barbecue Grill, charcoal, bamboo skewers/iron skewers, although advertised, were never found; ample Outdoor furniture and Hammock with Outdoor dining area; parking is free and plentiful on premises; Books and reading material were extremely limited; Board games were not found; They offer a Shared pool and hot tub access; the Self check-in and out worked fabulously; Building staff were nice and helpful, although we only saw her once upon arriving! Overall, we were satisfied and made the best of the circumstances as a small group of friends can do. This location, its staff and its administration deserves a good four out of five! Be prepared for a steep walk up to the property if still able to walk after a day dealing with the hills, narrow ways and cobblestone streets of this beautiful town. Mediocre experience here. AVOID STAYING HERE.

From the beginning, we should have seen all the red flags. We reserved multiple units months ahead with various families. When we arrived, they “upgraded” one of the units to a horrible unit.

Later after asking we get the original units back, they claimed that they couldn’t give it back.

They lied, saying that they gave us a warning that the room was given to another group a few days earlier.

I guess it’s useless to reserve and PAY ahead of time for specific units.

Overall, the main woman helping us do our reservations (Jael) has not been honest at all.

Even during checkout, Jael didn’t behave professionally. They did inventory at the END only, and claimed that silverware was missing. On top of that, Jael tried to say one of the groups we were with left late!

Checkout is at noon, the group left at 11:30 AM. We have the time stamps and receipts from the checkout.

That’s just the management experience.

The units have nice views and are ok equipped. But don’t let that fool you. The boilers went out multiple times. Hot water was scarce. The chimneys have NO ventilation.

They had a gas explosion recently. Look at the pictures. The rooms we had with chimneys quickly filled up with the smell of gas. They are NOT ventilated to the outside.

We spent 7 days in this newly developed complex. There are lots of hills, but if you are into cross for perfect for exercising outdoors. The complex has a pool, gym, sauna, hot tub, steam room upon reservation with the Airbnb daily. Our villa had a view of the canyon.

If you plan on strengthening peace, gratitude for planet Earth, this place will wake you up with soothing birds to amenice the morning or meditation.

Transportation to down town needs to be arranged we used SMA transportation , but the walk is not bad, it's clean, nice peaceful walk down. The church near by is well known and transportation knows it well.
