Best value place I've stayed at this far, especially in Mexico where prices are skyrocketing. The location is in the centre, 3 minutes walk from the historic Mercado and 7 minutes from the main plaza. Coffee is made for free within the dinning area throughout the day and filtered water is also available free of charge. There is also a microwave and fridge and soap and shampoo along with towel are complimentary. The rooms were cleaned every day too. The staff were excellent and the all-round ambience, decor and fauna were delightfully designed. There are multiple common areas, one with a TV, chess and sofas,one outside courtyard and a dinning area. The Room contained a desk, lockers, clothes rail, and ensuite bathroom, where water is always available. There are a variety of room, however, a shared room is a very reasonable 150 pesos. Llegamos a Casa de Juan por una recomendación, y sobra decir que una muy mala. Sin embargo, lo que más me sorprende es leer la gran mayoría de reseñas, que por no decir todas, son completamente contrarias a lo que realmente se vive en este hostal. Eso deja espacio para pensar en que los estándares de quienes visitan este tipo de lugares son efectivamente bajos. También comento que el alojamiento bloqueó el usuario de mi esposo, quien fue el que reservó con su perfil para que no dejara reseña. Wow.

Empecemos por la habitación: No tienen camas, tienen resortes apenas con un poco de espuma, cubiertos por una cobija vieja. Para colmo, pedimos una cama matrimonial y nos pegaron 2 individuales; entre ambas camas había una tabla sumamente dura, por lo que tuvimos que dormir en los extremos de dichos catres.

Después de ver la decepción de cama, pensamos en que podríamos descansar de alguna manera, pero no hubo noche en que pegáramos los ojos; las cortinas eran casi transparentes y no cubrían el total de la ventana (los peatones podían ver dentro del cuarto), el agua se iba todas las noches (tuve que usar el baño de la recepción), el ruido de la calle era 24/7, otros huéspedes fumaban y se metía el olor del tabaco, no habían toallas para secarse las manos, Etc... Pero la cereza sobre el pastel fue darnos cuenta que no podíamos estar seguros (porque cómodos nunca estuvimos); al indicarle al recepcionista que saldríamos a conocer los alrededores, nos sugirió dejar nuestras pertenencias con él por un tema de seguridad. No es para eso la habitación??

Concluyo con decirles que cambiarnos de hotel. Estuvimos apenas 2 noches, y porque el otro hotel estaba lleno,...
