I stayed at the Majova Inn for a week on a recent trip to Xalapa. The best thing about this hotel is the location, right in the centre of the city but on a side street so relatively peaceful. It is a walk of a scant few minutes to the central plaza and very easy access to most of the city's interesting tourist spots.||||The hotel staff is very pleasant and helpful, but hotel facilities are limited: other than the rooms themselves, there is a cafeteria which serves the free breakfast but beyond that does not appear to have regular service - and that's about it. Breakfast options are also quite limited: either chilaquiles or eggs, accompanied by coffee and orange juice (from a carton, not fresh). In this city of fabulous fresh fruit it would have been nice to have a few healthier breakfast options.||||The rooms are quite spacious, well maintained and spotlessly clean. However only the rooms facing the street have windows (and therefore natural light); I spent the first 2 nights in an interior room which though quiet, was very dark. Fortunately was able to change rooms as natural light is very important to me. TV and basic toiletries are provided along with a hair dryer, but no electric kettle. ||||One negative for me was the absence of a table/desk to work at. I suppose not many people would come here to work, but I had quite a bit of work to do while there and ended up having to do it while lying in bed with my laptop. Not the best option for extended periods of time.||||In short - this is a good option for people looking to spend a few days exploring Xalapa - provided you don't need to spend much time in the...

The room I got didn't have an exterior window, only to the aisle, which in turn doesn't have any natural light source, so expect pitch dark if you don't turn on the lights at any time of the day, that was really weird! Mexican hotels do this a lot, but often times you kind a get an idea of these kind of things upon arriving at the place, so you know what you're up to, in this case, like I said the Hotel is really nice and clean, and the price seems fitting, so finding yourself in a bunker felt really ankward and weird to me. Breakfast is also really good, simple...
