We stayed at Villa Mima with our two children and it was fantastic. The house is located across the bay from the old town which provides incredible views of the bay and mountains as well as the old town itself, especially in the evenings when it's lit up. The kids absolutely loved watching all the cruise ships coming in and out of the bay.
Getting into the old town is really easy, it's quite a nice walk along the waterfront or when you're feeling lazy it's just a couple of minutes in a taxi which was less than €5 for the four of us. The owner gave us a number for a local cab company and we just gave them the name of the villa and they always had people available.
The house itself is great, the beds were incredibly clean and comfortable, I was worried from the pictures that there didn't appear to be any curtains but all the windows have shutters that meant I was never woken up early by the sun which usually annoys me on holiday.
The place had everything we needed and more, well stocked kitchen, great bbq and outdoor dining area, nice comfy lounge (not to mention the outdoor projector for movie nights) and two really good bathrooms. The best part though is the pool, perfect size for a splash around and just about big enough enough to swim a few lengths but the best bit is relaxing around it with the incredible view.
Would definitely go back again, so much of the local area we didn't get a...
Read moreWe spent a week at Villa Mima in early August for my birthday and were not sure what to expect if i'm honest. We were absolutely blown away. The villa is hidden away nestled into the mountain which could be hard to find but the hosts gave us solid directions and the cabs all seem to know it. Waking up every morning to that view never got old. You can sit there all day watching the large ships come and go. The hosts found out it was my birthday during the week and were amazing helping us find a place to go. They showed us a restaurant that didn't advertise that had one sole table out on the water. They booked it for us and even took as across the bay on their small boat!
The house is all modern, the air con was a relief and the epic wet room shower was nice.
If you want a relaxing holiday in Kotor away from the tourists of old town but within easy reach this is your place. Oh and don't forget the darts and table tennis they have there..
Thanks for a great bday week. Thinking about doing it again...
Read moreVilla Mima is a magical place! We stayed here 10-15 August 2016 and everything was perfect, including the weather. We stayed in the apartment which is detached from the house and it included everything we needed. Recently reburbished, all mod cons, bright and airy with lots of lovely touches like the net draping around the bed to separate it from the rest of the apartment. The house is equally as lovely and again has everything you need. The area is very safe and the locals were very friendly. The outdoor space is probably the best feature, with a large pool, darts board, table tennis, day bed, sun loungers and large eating area it's perfect for lazy pool days and al fresco dining. The Old Town is about 10 minutes walk away down the hill where you have access to plenty of restaurants and shops. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday or an activities based holiday as there is plenty to do and see. The view across the bay does not disappoint, it really is as good as...
