Platanus — Restaurant in Dobrota

I don't know about the quality of the food there but the customer service is appalling and the waiters would greatly benefit from a lesson in interpersonal skills. We went there primarily for the views and were immediately told by one of the waiter that we cannot sit outside on account of 'big storm' that would soak all their seats. 'Apparently' the big storm never came, but we shifted inside anyway. The seat that we got was full of dirty plates from the previous customers and after repeatedly asking the waiters to clean it, it was finally cleaned after 10 mins. I also asked for the Wi-Fi password but never got it and was just given a look and a hand wave from the waiter which probably was supposed to mean that they're very busy. I still decided to wait for a while as we were very hungry. In the meantime, no one had bothered to take our order. And then we saw some customers with a better view spot leave and decided to move there. And when I asked the waitress to clean that table, I was shouted at saying "Are you insane? You have switched 6 tables by now. Can't you see that we are busy?". This was literally our second table there. This is totally unacceptable customer service for me. I do not understand what did I do to deserve it. I believe that they might have been understaffed but it is not an acceptable excuse for a restaurant who's biggest selling point is their views and when they charge 2-3 euros more than close by restaurants because of their great 'views'.

Well I never got the promised amazing views but definitely saw some 'extraordinarily amazing' customer service from...

Disappointing. (I have changed my rating. Please read the end of my review). You expect more from a restaurant like this. Average that would describe it the best, hence 3 stars. The staff are pleasant and helpful but unfortunately the food needs to move up a level to justify the current star rating. I had the hamburger and fries. The chips weren't homemade and the burger was average, (no choice of cuisson). The other meal we had, (chicken and rice), we had to send back. The chicken was dry and overcooked. Not succulent as described on the menu. Not a great experience.... As I write this we are still waiting for the replacement meal... 30 minutes has passed and still waiting for the replacement meal. We've finished our meals... !!! We've just been told it's a mess on the kitchen. Doesn't fill you with confidence...🤔 Finally the alternative dish arrived and was edible... At the end of our meal the manager came to our table to offer her apologies. She was extremely gracious and very sorry to hear about our experience and explained that it isn't the impression or experience they wish to give their clients. I don't normally write reviews, but the Platanus restaurant on the lower road in Kotor left me breathless. The ambiance is wonderful - the attention to detail is evident and the space exudes warmth and elegance. There is a small parking lot in front, and around the restaurant there are enough places for safe parking, which adds to the comfort.

Special praise goes to the staff - the waiters are extremely professional, polite and attentive. They were available at all times, and the service was fast and efficient. The food is simply perfect! Every bite gives you the feeling of home cooking, as if you were eating at grandma's house - warm, full of flavor and prepared with love. The portions are generous, so some dishes can satisfy two people, which further justifies the affordable prices.

The atmosphere is pleasant and intimate, ideal for a family lunch or a romantic dinner. The selection of food and drinks is truly impressive, with an excellent wine list that will satisfy even the most demanding gourmets.
