My boyfriend ordered the Montenegro steak and I ordered the Tuna steak with black sesame for dinner. Both were excellent, bf even complimented that the pork steak was the best he had ever tasted. Although the serving may seems small but it is really filling. We also tried Rakija for the first time, and that one went straight to the head. 🤣 I wouldn't recommend the home made cake though (in the photo), it's just fresh banana with some cream on the sides. It's kinda bland. Also take note about the additional 10% charge for some random stuff like olive oil and something to do with the waiter's salary etc. But we gladly paid for it because the customer service is top notch. The waiter is probably the nicest we've had during our whole stay in Montenegro. And the view and the experience is just amazing!

If you want a delicious, local meal with friendly professional service, then head on down to Dobrota and visit Cafe Del Mare. We were greeted by our waitress (Susanna) who offered us any table available, and who then quickly drew up another table and chairs to accommodate our large party. We had a few questions regarding the menu and Susanna couldn't have been more helpful. She recommended a fantastic regional wine. She then talked us through their speciality local Sea Bass cooked in salt and ignited at the table before the it is filleted for you. At the end of the meal we were brought a few platters or watermelon to share as we chatted. No rush, no drama, a fantastic evening meal. The price is a little higher than some on the bay, but this is more than compensated by the experience!

Wonderful, kind and caring staff and lovely, fresh fish. We ate 3 times in Cafe Del Mare, once served by lovely Suzanna, twice by her lovely colleague, Alexander. They both were really professional and made sure we have a lovely Evening. The restaurant is located right by the sea, there are candles and the whole atmosphere is just great. On our first Night in Kotor we weren't really hungry so we went for salad and mussels, which were a burst of flavour. The next Evening we had one bigger grilled fish Together and that was just lovely and very well made. the Fish meat was juicy and Alexander prepared it perfectly for us. Also, the sous vide Octopus is a must try, it was just fantastic. Thank you so much for the experience!

In fact, it was quite a disaster. I started with Tuna Tataki and got store-bought gummy, tasteless, unhealthy and DISGUSTING soft tacos. If you can’t or don’t want to make your own tacos, simply remove this item from the menu. It was served with a cheap Asian-style sauce and lots of shredded iceberg lettuce. From among so many different types of lettuce (chicory, endive, rocket), they chose iceberg lettuce like in the worst fast-food chain. It ruined the whole presentation as everything was covered with iceberg lettuce and that weird sauce. For a main dish I ordered Calamari Montenegro, and at that moment I did not realize the kitchen mixed up my dish. I got baby squid which is a different item in the menu. Now, when I read all the reviews it occurs to me that this problem is quite common in this restaurant. Potatoes with spinach were completely tasteless, no salt, pepper, no seasoning at all. Baby squid was acceptable but again it wasn’t the dish I ordered. Even drinks were poorly prepared. Homemade lemonade was just a water with squeezed lemon juice, no lemon peel, no essence of citrus taste, no sugar (they served sugar separately, but it won’t dissolve in cold liquid). Shortly, lemonade is something more than water and a little of lemon juice. The only tasty dish was a dessert. Overall, it was an expensive experience with poor quality food and mediocre service. There is also a mess inside the restaurant and the kitchen doesn’t look...

Me and my wife were looking for a place to eat, we read the reviews and decided to give Cafe Del Mare a try. We were ignored for minutes when sitting at a table and I had to wave to the waiter just to bring us the menu. We decided for risotto and pasta carbonara and the waiter made us repeat the order and apologized saying it was his first day of work. Repeating the order wasn't enough, we had to point fingers at the menu to help him understand what it was we wanted. About 5 minutes later the waiter came back confused about the order. We had to repeat it once again. Very awkward moment! 30 minutes later another waiter came with the food. At this point we were hungry, but the food was very disappointing. I was hoping for a creamy risotto and some delicious pasta, but instead we've got a very dry, uncooked, tasteless pile of rice with bits and pieces of vegetables and some pasta that was swimming in a pool of cream. Two simple to make dishes ruined by some novice cooks. It was very weird to witness that the guy that took the order also took long breaks to smoke when the place was quite busy at that time. I've never seen that kind of attitude. We paid for the food and waited for the change. That took quite some time! I think the strategy there is to wait and see if the clients walk away or they stay, so they know to give back or keep the change. Terrible...

My fiancé and I decided to dine here on a Friday evening in September. The view by the water was very nice and our waiter was very kind although did not check on us often as he was busy attending every other table (he was the only server working from what we could tell).

My fiancé ordered the fresh fish and I ordered the tuna steak. Unfortunately, the fresh fish was extremely bland. Almost no flavour. We are not picky in the slightest and we were struggling to find some redeeming qualities about this meal. My fiancé also had to salt her potatoes as they were simply boiled and covered in oil. My tuna was fairly tasty, although again, the sides were not flavourful.

The price was quite high for the quality of food. Around 80 euros for these two meals and a glass of the house wine each.

I am mostly writing this review because the following day, I had symptoms of food poisoning. I had to get on a plane and travel which was hell. My fiancé and I had the exact same meals the day before except for the dinner at Caffe del Mare, and she was fine the next day. Unfortunately, it is highly likely that I got food poisoning from here.

I simply can't recommend this restaurant to anyone. Bland food, high prices, and risk of illness are...
