Edit 10/11: 1) they even failed to have the breakfast packed away as they promised. We confirm to the reception the hour it would be needed more than 24h in advance and still, they say at front desk that room service perhaps didn’t receive information. I seriously didn’t know what to answer to that. Should it be my responsibility to cross check that room service understood the request knowing that front desk says “Don’t worry Madame” and specifically confirms the day before that it will be ready. What a mess!! 2) their cleaning staff allows other customers to enter rooms without proof it’s theirs. LUCKILY i was watching TV in the bedroom when I got confronted with the a real life episode of this is not your bedroom. Cleaning lady opens suddenly the door and allows another person with big luggage to get in the room. To what I ask what’s happening and they both tell me it’s his bedroom. When told to front desk manager, he ensures this is unusual and they are very safe, full with cameras. Well, their cameras don’t operate inside bedrooms so I’m not sure how they ensure safety of your belongings with such modus operandi. ⭐ 2/5 - lower your normal expectations of 5star or save your money and get disappointed in another hotel. My husband and I recently spent a week at Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay, expecting the usual 5-star experience. While the staff is friendly and breakfast variety is great, several issues made our stay frustrating and far below luxury standards. Positives: • Friendly Staff: The team is welcoming and tries to help. However, their efforts are often undermined by poor management and systemic issues. • Breakfast Variety: Breakfast options are good, with fresh ingredients and an impressive spread. But oddly, omelette with tomato sauce and cheese - a popular local dish – was missing, which we found available at nearby cafes. Negatives: • Inconsistent Service: Room service and poolside service were consistently unreliable. I requested ice and a bag for my foot in our room, but it never arrived. Similarly, I asked for a glass with ice by the pool and it was ignored. Unless you’re actively consuming, it seems service is low-priority. • Erratic Water Temperature: The shower in the bedroom was nearly unusable, with the water constantly fluctuating between warm and cold without any adjustment. This is unacceptable at any level, let alone a 5-star hotel. • Vanilla Ice Cream “Unavailable” for 4 Days: We requested vanilla ice cream every day for four days, each time being assured it would be available the next day. Finally, it appeared on day five. This level of miscommunication and service lapse is shocking. • Excessive Waiting Times and Forgotten Orders: Breakfast service was disorganized. Drinks were delayed or forgotten on multiple occasions. My husband’s coffee never arrived on several mornings, and on two days I had to go without salt. We often had to search for basic condiments. • Cold Swimming Pool: The pool was far too cold, and not a single guest dared to use it while we were there. This felt like a complete waste of a key resort feature. • No Essentials on Site: Surprisingly, the hotel doesn’t stock basic items like sunscreen or toothpaste. We were advised to go to a souk 10 minutes away to purchase these, which feels highly unprofessional for a 5-star property. • Empty Minibar: Despite not being an all-inclusive hotel, our minibar was left completely empty. Stocking a minibar is standard in 5-star hotels worldwide, and we were disappointed by this oversight. • Overpriced and Inconsistent Menu Pricing: Menu prices are both extreme and inconsistent. Three scoops of ice cream cost 14 euros, and a glass of orange juice is 10 euros, yet a full burger and fries is 15 euros. This lack of pricing balance left us feeling that the charges were arbitrary. While we appreciated the warm attitude of the staff, the issues above point to a poorly managed property that fails to meet luxury standards. For what we paid, we expected far more, and we wouldn’t recommend this hotel to those expecting true 5-star service.

Well my experience at this hotel was quite an experience so to speak. The hotel itself is a magnificent piece of architecture and every part of it is a truly beautiful site. In this aspect it deserves 6 out of 5 stars like seriously. Birds and wildlife freely wonder the hotel with its open top which gave a marvellous ambience. Live music every night with candles and petals everywhere and the sound of flowing water. Wonderful! The service and staff on the other hand are very hit and miss here. Some of them were excellent but the bad ones were tiring to deal with and not what one would desire or expect from a 5 star hotel. Inconsistency is the key word here and staff training at this hotel needs to be stepped up entirely. From the towel boy who argues to give you more than 1 towel each, the guy in the red shirt (the only staff member wearing a red shirt) by the pool who simply ignores guest requests and just struts around with a dumb grin on his face like it's his house you're in, the door concierge that pushes passed customers as he goes in and out (entirely contradicting his purpose and role), the waiter that brings the wrong food but then tells his manager that you don't want the food rather than telling the truth that he made an honest mistake, plus other generally younger staff members just being tiring with their customer service. Courtesy needs to be a priority in training these hotel staff. On the other hand the good staff members deserve great praise for their service; the cleaning ladies were very creative and each day would make your room look magnificent with petals and towels shaped into swans, birds and other innovative shapes. Some of the waiters did offer 5 star service like Rachid with the hat by the pool who would truly attend to your every need and the quality of food was top class aswell so top marks to all the chefs. The rooms were interesting, so we went through 5 rooms before we were satisfied which was again a tiring experience. The first few rooms all had a funny sewer aroma to them and were all quite claustrophobic with no balconies, even the first sea view room we saw just had a roof blocking most of the view and was pretty much a roof view room. Finally we got a pool/seaview room that smelt like roses with a balcony and was beautiful. However the hotel still failed to provide us with the twin beds we required as they stated it wasn't possible in this room and we just had to make do. Quite astonishing how a five star hotel of this calibre only had a handful of rooms to this standard. A personal big disappointment for my experience here was missing half of the football (final game of the premier league season) due to confused staff giving me inaccurate information. So firstly I'm told by bar staff by the pool that I can watch it in the hotel lobby. Just before the game I make my way to the lobby, upon speaking to reception I'm told I can only watch it in my hotel room, quite disappointed I make my way to my room where I find the channel it's on is not working (bein sport). I make my way back to reception to speak to Sara (head of customer relations) who states after a few calls that the hotel doesn't actually have the channel for the football! Very frustrated I simply ask where I need to go and she directs me to concierge. After speaking to the concierge I asked to be put in a taxi to go anywhere to watch the football, he insists that if I go back to my hotel room he would send and engineer to make the channel available that apparently was not available. I object and say I already tried but he promises so reluctantly I return to my hotel room. After 20 further minutes where I was completely losing hope, the engineer finally got the channel working. I sat on my hotel bed and watched the remaining second half of the football, the ending to this shambolic experience! Now I know 5 star hotels in different parts of the world operate differently with no universal rating system unfortunately. Based on my experience here I would rate the hotel as decent 4 stars. My experience = 3.5 stars.

Catastrophes experience that I had in Sofitel From the First step until the Last ( blood in the pillow, bed not changed still dirty full of hair, small things on the top...) --》Please you can see the photos My self and my wife as she's the first time she will visit Agadir I suggest for her hotel sofitel that I was thinking she will be more than happy, the reality of our experience it was so sad and stressful, we lost our day for nothing.. Firstiful Check-in it was so late, just to know we where in the hotel at 11h00, 4 hours waiting, during this time we eat the breakfast it was good and expensive 500 MAD for 2 person, we Walk around the pool, no one from the staff come to ask if we need towel...assistance or something. Finally we get the room, we couldn't come in because the floor was not dry, toilet dirty, room equipment is Very cheap for Sofitel 5*, the corners full of dust, as i have allergies from dust.. no amenities, it was no Cafe machin, it was not enough place to put the luggage and our stuff..to be honest I was so disappointed. All of what we faced it makes our experience worst, At 22h30 we find blood in the pillow, we called reception, supervisor lady and her colleague Mohamed they come to check, the supervisor lady she did not make any effort to find us a solution instead Mohamed he apologized but is not acceptable, we feel disrespectful and we do not trust where will we sleep. At 00h30 we packed our luggage to go out, one and Half hour we explain to night manager.. he pushed and he forced us to stay 1 night and to pay 3300 MAD, Catastrophes experience I never ever go back extremely I don't recommend this hotel

Sofitel agadir review||My god this is such a long complain.||||Everything about the hotel is great but the room. Huge disappointment from the house keeping as comparing to previous stay.||||7 nights total stays with Sofitel||||* Did not get the room with shower instead of a bath tub, but this is acceptable maybe its busy or something||* Had trouble switching from bath to shower, its just hard to push, even I struggle a bit cant imagine if my wife is on her own.||* Towel are sometimes found unclean amd have to replace. ||* Room landline were out of service||* Had to call Reception for multiple house keeping stuff, this is due by house keepers having no attention to details ie no checking on good's availability. ||* First will be the first night we checked in, multiple area mainly in the bedding and toilet were found unclean and had to call reception to send someone over to change the sheets. No slippers and tooth brush were given but i guess thats what hotels are doing nowadays. ||* 2nd day tooth brush were not replace as the one on the first night was thrown away, due to its broken condition and cant be use. Ran out of face tissue eventhough we left the empty box there by the bed side.||* 3rd day the hair and body cleanser finish, called reception.||* 4th day Body Lotion finish, called again.||* 5th day Conditioner finish, called again.||* 6th day Hand washing liquid is finish, at this point i cant be asked anymore since its my last 2 nights here so i settled with the shower cleanser.||* All item were found finished during shower or half way using it. ||* And as after having the replacement, at the very next day the house keeping did not bother to swap the used ones with the new ones we have, this applies to every replacement stuff we have been calling and our toilet is just pilled with bottles and bottles of shower stuff. ||* Everyday, there is 1 item at least finish and we have to call reception and waste our time. ||||The overwhelming is coming from the disappointment in lack of attention to details, i mean it's just common sense to check if the stuff is still enough for the customers to use, even though I have told the reception on the 3rd day of calling for the missing items but yet nothing is change. So we got used to this and don't think Sofitel will be our choice of stay the next time we are in Agadir. Did not have a 5 star room service attitude and that to me is one of the most important factor about a hotel - cleanliness and convenience, as from a customer pov. Yes calling reception dis solve our problem but the hotel is huge, room service takes long, yet having to call every day like im a hotel inspector or something is just very bothering our stay. ||||So with the above experience, dont think Im staying with Sofitel again. ||||Overall feel, room to sleep in are not that clean in our opinion, and now with the goods, so basically everything but the room means everything you have to pay extra within the Hotel is great. ||||* The dessert chef is genius, we always stop by at the lobby just for desserts and some tea before going back up our room. ||* Staff around the pool and dining area, basically everywhere around the hotel is great.||* They are great when you are spending extra around the hotel.||* Although having said the house keepers have been mention for not being attended to details, they did followed my instructions as we like to keep some of our stuff at places in the room, but their main duty, they didnt care.||* Finally, I have to give great rating for Soul Terrace, great environment great Shisha, great music. Great place to have a chill after...
