Avoid This Hotel at All Costs! I rarely leave reviews, but after our horrible experience at this hotel, I felt the need to warn others. From the moment we arrived, things went wrong.
First off, the front door to your hotel room wouldn’t close unless you shut it really hard, which felt unsafe. Then, we get to the bedroom door, which didn’t lock. Same with the bathroom door, no lock there either. So, you’re basically just trusting the honor system with your privacy, which is sketchy.
Inside the room, it was even worse. There were bad smells coming from various areas, Not pleasant when you're trying to relax. The hallway lights were motion sensor and never turned on until you were already halfway down the hall. And if your room is at the end of the corridor like ours, it’s super creepy walking in the dark, hoping the lights will kick in.
The shower head didn’t work properly, and one morning we had no hot water at all. We were without it for an hour. Even worse, the lights in the bedroom didn’t work properly — the dimmer lights were broken, so we had to have the big light on while the kids were trying to sleep. Bidet leaking, dirty towels, dirty bedsheets, and dirty gowns—it felt like they hadn’t even bothered to clean the place.
Then, the fridge was filthy, smelled awful, and was rusting. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, and the pool was so cold it was practically unusable. The whole experience just felt like they didn’t care.
The worst part though came when we checked out, they told us all there was 2 towels missing in one of the rooms, we told them exactly where they were and they couldn’t find them, a few minutes later, reception staff said everything in the rooms was ok so we assumed the said towels had been found. We had some luggage in the holding area because our flight was later in the day. We went out shopping and three hours later, we returned, and suddenly, they accused us of damaging a mirror in the room. They wanted us to pay 900 dirhams for something we didn’t do, claiming it might’ve been my 5-year-old nephew, For the record, he’s too short to even reach the mirror, let alone break it. After a tense confrontation, we were locked in the hotel for an hour until they got what they wanted. They said we needed to pay to leave. Unbelievable.
In the end, we paid 450 dirhams just to get out and catch our flight, but the whole ordeal left a terrible taste in our mouths. Youseff and Adil, the reception staff, were incredibly rude and unhelpful. They actually offered to “help us” by covering the rest of the cost after we paid, which is a blatant scam.
The rooms were terrible, the staff were unprofessional, and we felt completely unsafe. There’s mould, rust, and even rats near the building. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you don’t want to deal with a scam, awful service, and unsafe conditions.
Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.
P.S. This seems like a common scam in Morocco, so be aware—never give them your passport and make sure to take your luggage...
Read moreWould give 0 stars if possible.||Bed sheets, pillows and towels all had stains on them. Breakfast was mediocre at best. This hotel has both refurbished and un refurbished rooms which means when booking this hotel you are gambling with what kind of room you get. If you get an un refurbished room then the money you paid will not be worth it.||You may also, which is what happened to my family, get held hostage in the hotel room and not be allowed to leave. On our last day we checked out as normal and were told that everything was good and there was no outstanding discrepancies. We left our luggage in the locked room and went out for a few hours as we had a late flight. However, when we returned things took a turn. Youssef and his colleague refused to give us our unless we paid 900 dirhams as we had allegedly broken a mirror. When he showed me the pictures the mirror was not broken but slightly bent which was like that on our check in. This led to a standoff of almost an hour. They only let us get our luggage when my 1 year old niece needed feeding and the food was in the luggage room. However following that the staff then LOCKED the front door and did not let us leave unless we paid. We eventually came to an agreement and were forced to pay 450 dirhams and Youssef claimed that him and his colleague would pay the other half. To me this sounded like a scam but as we were desperate to leave we ended up paying.|This is when I thought the nightmare would end but it continued when I left an honest review on booking.com The staff clearly too offence and started making slanderous claims that we kept two towels (why would we want to keep two dirty towels is beyond me) but what was worse when they said we were hitting the kids to make them cry and add pressure to the staff to let us leave. This was unbelievable to me and really made me understand how toxic this hotel and the staff are especially in the way they treated us.|In summary, avoid this hotel unless you want stained bed sheets and towels and run the risk of potentially being forced to pay extra for something...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!!||||Firstly it’s a gamble when you book whether you will get a renovated room or a room from the 1980’s as only floors 1&2 are renovated. You will still pay the same price for whichever one you are given. ||||The breakfast is mediocre, the sheets are dirty and are not changed. Water is cold and on one of the days there was no water at all for 1 hour! The lighting in the hallways do not come on and is very eerie and dangerous at night as there is already no windows in the hallways. ||||We also had a terrible experience when checking out. After being accused of stealing towels. The reception manager Youseff said everything was okay and no further action was necessary. We left the premises and came back three hours later to collect our luggage. The staff then accused us of breaking a mirror in our room. This was after we had left and all their checks had been completed and were deemed satisfactory.||||The staff would not let us leave until we paid 900 MAD. They locked our suitcases and refused to release them. We had very young children and they kept essential baby formula from us which is completely unacceptable and downright inhumane. Once we voiced our strong concerns regarding baby formula that was locked away they released our suitcases but then locked the main entrance and kept us there as hostages for over an hour. They threatened to call the police and when we tried to take a video to record for our own evidence they stated we are not allowed to film. ||||These people are con artists and knew exactly what they were doing. It seems from other reviews and their demeanour of how they approached this situation in the sense that they seemed completely un phased by our pleas and anger towards them shows they have done this before. We only paid as we knew this would be the only way of getting out and any further delay would result in a missed flight. Take this review strongly and highly consider whether this is the...
