The worst hotel on my round trip through Morocco: The shower is constructed in such a way that the entire floor in the bathroom gets flooded. The room service took away the wet towels used to dry the floor, but did not bring new ones There was no toilet brush in the room. When I asked at the reception for one, they couldn't give me one and said that room service would just clean everything The water in the sink was still very warm even on the coldest setting (luckily not hot) There was a constant loud humming noise in the room, possibly from the ventilation system, even though the air conditioning was turned off. The stairs were not all the same height, so you had the feeling of falling off the stairs
Rather a minor drawback was that the breakfast buffet could have had a larger selection and the coffee machine only ever dispensed hot chocolate for half of the options (cappuccino etc).
Positives were the proximity to the beach (10-15 minute walk) and the checkout...
Read moreLa Perle de Mogador is a budget-friendly hotel in Essaouira, offering a simple and clean environment. While the rooms are comfortable, they are quite basic. Unfortunately, there is no bottled water or coffee provided in the rooms, and there’s no hairdryer available either, which could be inconvenient for some travelers.
On the positive side, the hotel has a nice outdoor pool and serves a decent breakfast. The staff are polite and helpful, making up for some of the missing amenities. The location is convenient, close to the beach and not far from the medina, making it a good base for exploring Essaouira.
If you’re looking for an affordable option and don’t mind bringing a few essentials yourself, La Perle de Mogador can be a reasonable choice. However, if you value more in-room amenities, it might not meet all your...
Read moreFrom the outside "La Perle de Mogador" gives the impression of a Moroccan palace. Upon closer inspection, however, the cracks become far too obvious. My wife and I were there as part of a tour. In our first room, toilet and lights in the bathroom were broken. We were able to change the room without a problem, but in the second, the air conditioning did not work at first. (It was quickly repaired, though.) The breakfast and dinner buffets were okay, but, apart from the Baghrir pancakes, lacked culinary interest, although the waitresses did their best to give the guests a good experience. But when the morning coffee is served only in paper cups and some people even have to eat standing, because there are not enough tables, such a hotel is not worth four stars. I am sorry, but this pearl needs a...
