One of the worst Riads I even stayed in! We went a weekend to Marrakesh and based our choice on the price and reviews. The reviews were good and the high price gave the impression that casa Ysabella is a premium stay.
Nothing is further from the truth! Although the staff is friendly and welcoming the Riad itself lacks attention. The room was humid and the shower was small. A lamp was hanging from the wall by its cables and the bathroom door could not be properly closed.
The pictures on the website looked amazing, especially the rooftop terras. However the rooftop terras could not be used. The chairs, tables and floor were dirty and there was dust everywhere.
We hoped for an authentic Moroccan breakfast with simple and fresh food. Unfortunately the Moroccan food traditions were massacred! The msemen and bread was very very old and so hard that it cannot be eaten. The bread and msemen were served with too much jam that did not taste good. This was another signal that the Riad laks care. It is not that hard to get fresh msemen and bread in the middle of Marrakesh!
We decided to leave the frustration aside, packed our stuff and left to another place were the Moroccan traditions were done justice. My advice to anyone visiting Marrakesh is to stay away...
Read moreGreat riad in the heart of Marrakech! The location is more than perfect perfect, as its very central and you can visit everything by foot. The riat itself is absolutely beautiful. Once we entered it felt like a little (and quiet!) oasis - completely shielded by the noise and action of the streets. The rooms are cosy and chic - soothing colour mixes and a super comfy bed! The terrace and the courtyard are also displaying the splendour and traditional flair of Marrakech - absolutely romantic and relaxing to sit there to enjoy your delicious breakfast. On top of that Isabella is a very friendly host, trying to comply with all our needs and wishes. So it's a 100% recommendation...
Read moreWe had a wonderful 5 night stay at La Casa Ysabella. The riad was clean and comfortable. The rooms are tidied daily. The location is perfect - just a couple minutes walk to the main square but far enough away from the noise.
Unfortunately we weren’t able to meet Isabelle in person, but Youssef and Nora were very kind and helpful. Breakfast each day was delicious and generous (too much food to eat).
Despite not meeting in person, Isabelle was very responsive to emails. They arranged transport to/from the airport for us (highly recommend, especially if you are new to Marrakech), and arranged an excursion into the Agafay desert.
Wonderful stay. Very good value...
