Having been contacted by telephone at my home in France for 1 week for 2 people over 55 years of age in a 5 star hotel, with privet chauffeur in Marrakech for 370 € I realised that there must be something being sold at the end of the holiday. Anyway, my friend and I took the risk, and ended up in a beautiful appartement 2 bedrooms, 2 shower rooms, living , sitting room, beautiful kitchen. All was well - we arrived on the Thursaday evening, but on the Friday evening, we were approached by a certain Norbert to ask us to leave our appartement for 2 days while they did some decorating. I refused, saying they could do it after we had left!!! OK, but the next day Saturday morning, he was back again, saying if we packed an overnight bag, and just for one night, please to elsewhere!!! but always coming back to Medina loft for our meals. The next morning (Easter Sunday) we waited in vaine for someone to take us back to our original hotel. When we finally contacted CHOCHO, the taxi arrived, and as I had kept the card of our original room no 13,went in to get some clothes, and you can imagine our surprise when we found the room all ready (bathrobes slippers etc) ready to accept another family.... and all our clothes had been moved by their staff, into the room number 5. Imagine our anger to realise that people had moved all our clothes and personnel affairs without our permission. Luckily we had empted our safe, or we wouldn't even have had a passport... We were furious, and let everyone know. The restaurant staff couldn't have been nicer, and did everything possible to make up for the management's lack of "savoir vivre". But the day before we left, we finally disc overed the reason for our cheap holiday. In the bottom of the hotel there is a real computor room with dozens on girls on line contacting people like us, and the director of all this||dared to try and sell us a "partnership" of 25.000€ for 7 day holiday a year, (+ an extra 7 free!!!) for a system that had done us so much harm. Never in all my life have I been so angry. Suddenly, all the French staff, hardly said hello, and couldn't wait to get rid of us. Very sorry to give such a negatif view of this lovely hotel, but you always pay for what you get, I expected them trying to sell me something, but being put out and all our clothes flitted by the staff, and oh nearly forgot, we only had one bed in our "new" flat, so my friend had to sleep on a mattresse on the floor. Do not be taken in like we were. I am 67 my friend 63 and we did not need all that...
Read morewe visited on the 15th April 2017 staying for 3 nights, we arrived quite late however we were greeted very well and were able to check in immediately as we had 3 children with us, the room was amazingly spacious with everything you could ask for a kettle, toaster, microwave, fully equipped kitchen basically! we even had a washing machine! the living room area was lovely and walked onto a private balcony which was again very spacious and we had some lovely evenings sat out there, the bedrooms had lots of space and each with its own tv, the beds were incredibly comfortable and the bathrooms were lovely and well stocked with luxury toiletries and a hairdryer and plenty of towels and bathrobes and slippers. The breakfast was amazing we were served on our table and nothing was too much trouble we loved being greeted by the lovely lady (sorry we forgot her name) the next day she even remembered what we all had the previous day in regards to our hot drinks, on the last day I couldn't make it to breakfast and she brought breakfast to my room and I had everything I wanted she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted. Reception staff were very friendly and accommodating, even the security staff were amazing helping us with our shopping, and directing us to wherever we wanted to go. Truly the 5 star experience would love to return, the location is great with many food and shopping...
Read moreI would highly recommend the Medina Loft, having stayed there as a family (2 adults + 7 and 12 year old children) for 7 nights late March- early April 2015. ||||It is incredibly well located and allows 15 - 20 minutes access to most of the key tourist sights in Marrakech. As an aside, the "tourist rate" cost of getting almost anywhere is c50 Dirham's by taxi, which I thought was very competitive (c USD 5). ||||We selected a 2 bedroom self contained apartment, which came with very generous sized living room and a well equiped kitchen which had all the latest mod-cons. The staff were always incredibly friendly and polite, and I would particularly highlight the serving staff at breakfast each morning and the personnel manning the front desk of hotel staff, who always made us feel welcome. All the staff we interacted with were multi-lingual, and whilst of course French is the main language (as it is throughout Morocco!), they were very confident chatting to us in English.||||The vicinity of the hotel, always felt very safe and well lit, and we were more than comfortable popping out to the local food places (there is an incredible Creperie 5 minutes walk from the hotel). We used the in-house restaurant for dinner on two nights, and found the standard of food and service decent. All in 5 star, and look forward to...
