I discovered this place while walking and looking for a place to eat. As a Moroccan wanting my foreign friend to discover authentic Moroccan food, and who was disappointed with the touristy horrible places in the medina and around jamaa el fna, I was pleasantly surprised. I believe it was a 9/10 on all the dishes. The food is as close as can be to home cooked meals and far from restaurant cooking. Besides being delicious, everything was clean and fresh. The girls serving us were lovely and polite. I would only make a negative comment about the music, which was electronic with some Arabic vibe music, and I felt it didn’t match the food and the vibe. I would rather have some authentic Moroccan music or Nabila maan (Moroccan with a somewhat modern vibe) kind of style of music to be played. My other negative comment would be about the dessert orange à la cannelle, i believe it would be better to keep the whole cream to the side to keep it as a decorative element rather than part of the dessert. In my opinion, orange à la cannelle is a fresh light dessert, adding whipped cream makes it a little bit heavier. I hope the quality stays the same throughout the years as I really hope to come back with other foreign friends but also family as well. My friend says : allah yatikoum seha

I can only say good things about this place. It's a little hidden gem tucked away on a side street. Despite being just beyond the edge of the Gueliz area, it still gets its fair share of tourists and locals. Actually, it appears to be the only restaurant on this street that always has diners inside. This was my third time here. It was my first meal in Marrakech, and if I can, it will be my last as well. I've had three different tajines: lamb and prunes, chicken with olives and preserved lemon, and the marrakechi tagine (beef!). All of them are fantastic choices, and I can't wait to try the kefta in tomato sauce next time. The ladies that make everything go are wonderful. Polite, friendly, and welcoming. The street is calm, unlike others in the area, so eating outside in the sun is a great option for a luncheon. When it cools down at night, the inside is warm, cozy, and simply but tastefully decorated. The prices are great for what might be the most authentic food I've found here.

We recall it as simply a great experience. We ordered beef tajine which had a great amount of meat unlike some other places we ate at. The meat was tender and juicy so I highly recommend this dish. Chicken skewers were a bit dry to me but I think it's the common thing that meat is mostly served well-done in Morocco. They were tasty though! The beef patties were tasty as well. Both dishes were mild and filled us to the full considering that they come with complimentary bread on the side. To top up our experience we ordered a mint tea teapot for two. The tea was very strong and the quality was great. It's located in a quiet neighborhood. We found the restaurant clean and the staff was friendly. If visiting Marrakesh anytime in the future, we would most likely dine here again.

We waited for our food for about an hour. When it finally arrived, only two meals were brought out even though we were four people — which felt quite rude. When we mentioned this, we were told we’d have to wait a little bit more.

The service overall was very slow, and the staff didn’t seem to know how to handle the situation. Our waitress didn’t speak English well, and even though we pointed directly at the items on the menu, she still got the order wrong. She also didn’t write anything down, so it seems she simply forgot to place part of our order.

We had also ordered dessert, but in the end we decided to skip it because of the long wait. The waitress even came back later, after the main courses and after we had already discussed the delays, to ask again about the dessert order — which made it clear there was confusion in the service.

Overall, it was a disappointing experience — not just because of the mistakes, but because of how poorly the staff handled the situation. There was also a man, possibly the manager, who tried to help, but he clearly needs to improve his communication and...

Chez Fatima!

If you're looking for an authentic Moroccan dining experience in Marrakech, Chez Fatima is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you step in, you are welcomed with warm hospitality and an ambiance that truly reflects the heart and soul of Moroccan culture. The food was exceptional. Every dish is a celebration of traditional flavors, carefully prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Food was perfectly cooked, light and flavourful. The Moroccan mint tea was the perfect way to end a fantastic meal.

A special thank you to Ahlam, our wonderful waitress, whose kindness and expert recommendations made our dining experience even more memorable. Her attention to detail, politeness, and deep knowledge of the menu ensured that we got to taste some of the best dishes the restaurant has to offer.

If you’re in Marrakech, don’t miss the chance to dine at Chez Fatima. It’s an experience that will leave you with unforgettable memories of Moroccan hospitality and cuisine. Highly...
