First tried to go there around 11pm. The place was closed despite being advertised to be open until 00:00 on their website.
The place is quite small, there's indoor seating and outside, on a small terrace. The decoration and inspiration reminds me of other well known franchises. Despite being there at a rush hour the place was clean and well maintained.
There's only 3 items on the menu with no veggies/vegan options and you can add different toppings as supplements. The doubme menu with fries and soda is quite pricey (89MAD) so the expectations are high. The bun is indeed good, but that was it. The special sauce tasted a lot like mayonnaise with some sweetness, the beef and veggies were okay-ish, the cheese had any flavour. Regarding the fries, I liked the look and the taste but sadly half weren't well cooked.
The counter lady was very friendly and welcoming. One of my friend (who's an environmental activist) asked for his soda to stay in the can (they pour canned soda into the recipient you can see on the pictures). It was plainly and firmly denied without any explanation by the counter lady, the cook then jumped into the discussion to rudely add that it was like that and that's it, no debatable. We understand house rules but the way he addressed my friend was quite unprofessional.
Lastly the hygiene is very questionable. They wear black latex gloves but aren't really careful of their doings. The cook checked his phone then picked uncooked patties from the fridge to put them on the grill, the counter lady touched cash and receipts before picking up straws and handing them to clients. Lastly the third person that assembles the burgers has incredibly nice long hair, but doesn't wair a hair Charlotte. Neither does the cook.
3 stars for a poor customer service, a low price to quality ratio and some ?? on the...
Read more**Update June 2024: I’ve had hundreds of hamburgers across a handful of countries in Europe and North America. I cannot explain to potential customers how delicious this burger is - it simply has that “je ne sais quoi!” You, like I wish I had done, should dedicate one meal per day to this restaurant, as no other burger holds a flame to this one 🤌. That is all.
*^Update May 2023: I’ve moved away from Marrakech, but I still dream of this delicacy. Sometimes when I wake up, I am haunted by the thought I may not have these burgers again. I burn I pine I perish!
**Update September 2022: Nothing has changed. This place is still a life-altering culinary experience. I’ve eaten here 4 times since July and every time I’m on the verge of tears.
Update July 2022: I literally can’t believe how amazing their cheeseburgers are. I find myself questioning all other cheeseburgers I’ve had in my entire life. It’s undeniable the best in Marrakech. I actually don’t know why I eat anywhere else.
Circa Summer of 2021: This burger was amazing. I got a double with Jalapeños and cheese and it reminded me of a great diner-style burger...
Read moreI ordered a menu today through Glovo and I have to say I’m very impressed. Having been a burger restaurant owner myself, I know what it takes to make a truly good burger and I also know how rare it is to find a place that gets it right.
The Good Bun in Marrakech really delivers. The potato buns are soft yet flavorful and exactly what you want to hold everything together without overpowering the taste. The bacon is of great quality, perfectly cooked and adds just the right touch. Everything was well prepared, balanced and genuinely tasty, and you can tell there is attention to detail and care in the kitchen. One small feedback the fries were very tasty only a bit too cold Hope this will be different my next order.
This was a great experience and I will definitely be ordering again. Highly...
