Though it took us some time to find the resort but it was worth the travel. The resort had a very earthy and warm feel. The location is fabulous, all rooms have a panoramic view of the mountains, except the cottages, which face the jungle. It was a cloudy evening, so sun set was out of question and the morning was foggy so we missed the sunrise also. The food will not go well with North Indians (especially if you are a vegetarian). In dinner even though the staff gave us the chapatis but the vegetable was not good and had to eat the chapati with mango chutney/pickle. We were hoping to get some good breakfast and indeed it was. The staff brought us Aloo Parantha - a type of flat bread stuffed with potatoes (though not in Punjabi style) but it was fulfilling even though it took them 20 min to get them. Our room was small and the bathroom latch was not working. We also missed a cupboard in our room. The AC was not working at its capacity (clogged filters, i guess). Please ensure you inspect the towels and clothes kept in your room before wearing them. We were visited by Spiderman (that too a big one) at night and in morning. The resort, being situated in the lap of nature would have made the spider curious and he thought of visiting us. Mosquitoes are also on protein shake. Sitting in the porch in evening and sipping hot tea, breathing fresh air with The Himalayas in background... Priceless!!
Pros: The location of the resort. (Mountain facing rooms) Generous and courteous staff (they did checked with us if not with other people in the resort) Loved the tea they served us. Calm and peaceful surroundings (if you can ignore insect buzzing and people chatting)
Cons: Rooms are small (mine was. Maybe the base category ones are small) Food, not as per our liking (i am from Delhi) No intercom in the room, one has to go to reception every time anything is needed. Except for soap no other amenities...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu we began to climb into the mountains. As the bus pulled ever harder around the hairpin bends, the vast Kathmandu Valley was spread below us with a magnificent sunset to top it off. |Our sense of isolation was heightened by our final approach to the hotel up the steep, unlit driveway. However, we were met with a profusion of willing helpers as we were checked in and shown to our rooms. Weād lucked out with a massive room with wall to ceiling windows overlooking one of the terraces beyond which was the valley and the distant Himalayas. |Being part of a group of 18, we appreciated that our dinner, chosen from an extensive menu, was served promptly and efficiently with everyone eating together. |The next morning was a self-imposed early start for the showstopper that this area is deservedly famous for: the sunrise over the magnificent Himalayas. Whilst layers of cloud filled the valleys beneath us, the mountain range was mercifully clear and we were able to revel in the experience. Despite being in a group, the peace and tranquility pervaded the landscape making it almost a spiritual experience and easily the highlight of the entire tour. We later discovered that the entire mountain range had been blanketed in clouds for the previous 4-5 mornings: how lucky were we?|That this hotel is so perfectly situated to enjoy these spectacular views is worthy in itself to return but it is a relaxing, friendly place with plenty of little seating areas and sunrooms from which to enjoy the views. Added to which are the tranquil gardens and numerous...

Pros: Great location, quite remote but we were able to enjoy the serenity of Nagarkot. Saw the sunrise and sunset views on the rooftop, be sure to be early though as it does get packed. Booked a "Cottage" type room that could hold 3 people (it had a a double bed and a single bed). Very pretty cabin looking room and kept us warm throughout the night. The toilets were clean however the amenities could be improved. Staff treated us extremely well. We felt really welcome and taken care of. They recommended short hiking trails, when the sunset/sunrise will be and what times to be at the rooftop by. They also helped us with booking a taxi back to the airport. Service really exceeded our expectations!
Cons: We didn't have a TV in our room, though it was okay because it made us feel like we were in a getaway or it felt like we were back in time. Wi-Fi isnāt that strong in our room but it got stronger closer to the exit/bathroom. It worked fine everywhere else! It wasnāt a big issue for us but it might be for others (for reference we were right at the end and at the highest floor...
