I really enjoyed my stay and I had booked the standard room with private bathroom. The room was very spacious, with lots of windows and a high ceiling, and included a small private balcony which made for a great quiet reading spot. The staff were all very friendly as well and sociable, which was something I appreciated. In the evenings in the reception/common building, they had some great blues and folk music playing in the background which really made the space feel very relaxing for me.
My bathroom did have tiny little springtail bugs on the walls and little spiders once in a while, but honestly it was fine and I considered this normal given the foresty area and the fixed open window slats for ventilation. Otherwise the bathroom felt very clean, even cleaner than some 3 star hotels I stayed at in Thamel.
The only unpleasant thing that happened for me was unfortunately being there during their one huge thunderstorm after no rain there for 2 weeks. There was lots and lots of sudden rain and I soon found a couple roof leaks that led to wet spots on my bed. I told management at the end and they responded appropriately.
Lastly, if you want to check out the view tower for sunrise, they easily arranged for a car. It was 1500 rupees which you can split with others who also happen to want to join in on the ride.
Overall I would definitely book with them again! Very peaceful spot with lots of chill space on...
Read moreThis hostel is really unique. I loved feeling like I was staying in the bush as I looked out at the trees through my window in the morning. It was pretty cold and there's no heating in the room, so I struggled to get out of bed, but the bedding kept me warm enough throughout the night. Unfortunately, they didn't have a kettle in the room to help keep me warm with a little hot water, but they did give me a thermos of hot water from the restaurant when I asked about it. The shower also never remained warm for long. These shortcomings were made up for by the unique environment and the wonderful views up at the restaurant/communal area. On the last day, I could see the Himalayas clearly from there. It was beautiful. There is also a great variety of reasonably priced food at the restaurant. The hotel is also about 10 minutes walk from the centre of town and 10 minutes walk in the other direction is a great place to view the sunrise. The staff were happy to help out and give directions when I asked. Of course, it would have been even nicer if they had offered some of that information on my arrival rather than waiting for me to ask.Overall, a great...
Read moreLocation : nature lovers will love the location peaceful, direct padsage to hill top temple, mountain range ca be seen, Staff:* The staff are not that helpful as service was not that good . They're not interested in talking or servivmh food, Room Quality: The rooms were a bit dated and could use some renovations. The furniture showed signs of wear and tear. Noise: The walls seemed thin, as I could hear noise from the hallway and adjacent rooms, which disrupted my sleep. Breakfast:* The complimentary breakfast was very basic, with limited options. It could be improved with more variety and better quality.Value for Money: Given the average quality of the facilities and services, I felt the room rates were slightly high.
Overall: XYZ Hotel offers a decent stay for those who prioritize location and basic amenities. However, there is room for improvement, particularly in terms of room updates and noise insulation. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option and don't mind some minor inconveniences, this hotel might...
