A few weeks ago, we stayed at this hotel. The location and the natural greenery were amazing—that’s nature’s free gift. But the hotel’s management and service quality were so poor that even if they charged 50% less than they do, it would still be too much.
Basic facilities that are available even in simple guesthouses were missing here: There was no hairdryer in the room. We had to ask 5–7 times, and only received it on the second day. The tap was broken, and there was no hot water. When we complained, they shamelessly said, “Hot water doesn’t come in that room.” It was clear they weren’t running a business, but deceiving and exploiting guests. If the room wasn’t in good condition, why was it given to a customer? There was a tiny 20 ml shampoo bottle in the bathroom—not even enough for one person to shower. We had to ask for everything. The cleanliness was also not adequate. The room phone was not working. For any need, we had to go directly to reception. The Wi-Fi was just for show—basically non-functional.
More than the staff, it’s the management that seems highly negligent. I also read reviews from other guests posted some time back. The management had responded with the same copy-paste replies, but no improvements were seen. If guests who stayed 5–6 months ago had the same complaints as we did just 1–2 weeks ago, it clearly shows they are more interested in deceiving customers than improving their services. Otherwise, how could the same complaints persist unchanged for months?
The management here has completely ruined the spirit of the hospitality business. It feels less like a hotel and more like a scam operation. They don’t care about repeat visitors or long-term reputation. Please don’t waste time giving us generic copy-paste replies. Instead, use that time to actually address customer complaints and...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to stay at Mountain Vista Retreat in Nagarkot while facilitating a training session alongside two of my colleagues and friends. We were joined by over 30 local implementing partners from across the country, and the overall setting made our experience truly memorable.
The retreat offers a beautiful and serene location with stunning views that truly reflect the natural beauty of Nagarkot. The facility itself is well-equipped, with spacious parking, accessibility features, large open areas for movement, a music setup, and even table tennis for recreation. The physical infrastructure and atmosphere provided an excellent environment for both work and relaxation.
However, we did notice a few areas that could benefit from improvement—perhaps due to recent changes in service management. Throughout our stay, there was very limited interaction from staff regarding our meals or the overall quality of service. It also took longer than expected to resolve a power issue caused by a thunderstorm. Additionally, while the food was okay, it didn’t quite meet the standard we had hoped for.
That said, the natural surroundings, peaceful environment, and potential of this place are undeniable. With some attention to service quality, responsiveness, and guest hospitality, Mountain Vista Retreat can easily become a top choice for both professional and personal getaways...
