Hidden Paradise is genuine expression of Nepali hostility. It oversees the breathtaking Lake Fewa. It is just far enough away from the hustle of Pokhara city life to be quiet, but close enough to be anyway within 15 minutes..||||We are an American family traveling though Nepal with a 5 year old son and 5 month off daughter, and Hidden Paradise Guest House came recommended by friends who live locally in Pokhara. We did not want to be right in the city with the noise, pollution, late night partying, ||||After a 5 minute hike up a trail, we were greeted by owners Laxman and Pratikshya. They made us tea and we immediately felt at home. Our son played in the yard with their son who is of similar age. They ran around the yard overlooking the lake and the city. ||||The rooms are basic and clean. Much nicer than we expected as seasoned travelers who had been to India and Polynesia recently. The bathrooms are also basic, clean, and to western standards. Warm showers were always available, especially refreshing after a hike or trek. The electricity was consistent without any surges 24/7. Bottled water was provided and filtered water was also available. The WiFi was faster than expected, and I was able to make two work zoom calls without getting dropped, and our children were able to FaceTime with grandma. Most importantly, we always felt safe. ||||Laxman helped us coordinate travel and day trips. He and his wife made breakfast and coffee/tea for us in the morning. Our son praises Laxman's honey pancakes, made with honey from his family beehive as "the best pancakes in the world" (review from 5 year old). And Laxman bounced our infant daughter while my wife and I ate breakfast (we would post photos but we keep photos of our children off social media). ||||If you are looking for a Pokhara party - this is not your place. It is far enough away to be quiet but close enough that you can be at restaurants, bars, temples, and rendezvous for paragliding within 15 minutes. It is a genuine expression of Nepali hospitality. Our last night Laxman and Pratikshya made a delicious home cooked Dhal Bhat dinner while our families shared a meal looking over Lake Fewa sunset...
Read moreTruly a Hidden Zen Gem in Pokhara. You will be surrounded 360 degrees of Nepal's glorious landscape. This nature resort is located on a garden cliff facing the magnificent views of Fewa Lake. To your right you have views of the mountains and to the left and behind you, the lush, green hillside landscapes. The rooms vary to accommodate your stye and budget. I will be hosting a yoga retreat here in the future so I chose to stay in each of the rooms.
My favorite was the roundhouse with wrap around terrace. It included a full size bet and bathtub and shower. It was a great place to relax and do my morning meditation with the lake view.
There is also the earth rooms facing the hillside. These rooms were tastefully decorated with an earthy zen like feel. It included a full size single bed with large terrace where I did my morning yoga and journaling.
Lastly are the lake facing rooms which are more on the budget rate. Which honestly was a great value considering the room and view. These rooms include a single bed and a full size bed so you can share with a friend or family.
The resort is run by a beautiful Nepali family who grew up on the property. The three brothers, Laxman, Milan and Manish are lovely to share time, talk and dinners. The menu offers traditional Nepali food, cooked by the family and a selection of western dishes as well. It was nice to eat in the garden with the family who make you feel at home here in Nepal.
For the yogis, there is an open space yoga shala on the property for your use and their cousin is available for classes if you wish. They can also organize paragliding trips, a must for the more adventure types of people. I opted to go as one of the brothers is a paragliding pilot. They can also help you organize trekking excursions and trips around Pokhara. There are trails just outside the restort which can take you on a beautiful trip into the hillside all the way up to Sarangkot.
If you like to be close enough to the city but far enough away from the noise and crowd, this is the perfect place for you. Just sit back and enjoy all the Never Ending Peace And Love that is the energy and vibe of...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at hidden paradise, a family run guest house located in the midst of nature, offering a stunning view of the nearby lake. The owner, Laxman, was a gracious host and made our stay truly memorable.
Upon arriving at the guest house, we were immediately struck by the beauty of the natural surroundings. The guest house is situated on a hill overlooking the lake, and the view is simply breathtaking. We were greeted warmly by Laxman and his family, who made us feel right at home.
The guest house itself was cozy and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the beds were comfortable. We had a good night's sleep every night during our stay.
One of the highlights of our stay was the food. Laxman's family prepared delicious, home-cooked meals for us every day, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We especially enjoyed the traditional dishes, which gave us a taste of the local cuisine.
Laxman was also very helpful in arranging activities for us during our stay. He organized a boat ride on the lake, which was a wonderful way to experience the beauty of the area. He also provided us with information on nearby hiking trails and other local attractions.
Overall, our stay at the family run guest house was a fantastic experience. Laxman and his family were wonderful hosts, and we felt like we were part of their family during our stay. The natural beauty of the area, combined with the warm hospitality of the hosts, made for an unforgettable vacation. I would highly recommend this guest house to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat away...
