I highly recommend the Himalayan Yogini Teacher training program to any student from any country. It was a very well-rounded education not only in regards to Yoga postures (Asanas) and execution of them for which we received a very detailed training, but also on yoga philosophy, on pranayamas and anatomy, which is all interrelated. Each instructor provided their expertise and knowledge and taught with compassion and love. The yoga classes focused on correct alignment and doing your own possible best at your own level. There was never a sense of competition, but rather a sense of support from all instructors to help you accomplish your very own possible best. I am a female who traveled alone to Nepal for the first time, with main aim to find a Yoga center not like the others, not commercial, more focused in the essence of Yoga as a totality, and so I did not know what to expect. I can now tell you that you can expect to be in a family setting at Himalayan Yogini Center (literally and figuratively). From all the instructors to the main instructor and owner of the center Shyam, the calm balancing power, to the lovely kindhearted Mira (niece of Shyam), and his brother Mangal who conducts the meditation session, you are welcomed with love. I never once got homesick or felt alone. Shyam and Rajish, the main yoga teachers, by transferring to me their knowledge and spirit, i understood the true potential of my body, mind and spirit, and gave me the confidence to go out into the world and teach yoga. I am forever grateful to them and look forward to the next time I come to Himalayan Yogini for future training. The highlight of the training is the private groups of students that they keep to a maximum of 5 people. We were just 2 people. I had the training from 1st of March till 23rd...
Read moreAll I can say is WOW! What a great experience I had at this centre! I completed the 25-day teacher training program and had such a wonderful time. I was initially hesitant to sign up to the program because I consider myself as a beginner in yoga, but I discussed my concerns with the owner Shyam and instantly felt comfortable to move forward with the program. And boy, was I ever happy I did!
I also requested to begin the training mid-April and finish mid-May because that was the only timeframe that worked for me and Shyam and his team agreed to make it work (and I'm so grateful for that). My schedule was bit different than the other participants but I always felt taken care of and felt that all the decisions were made in my best interest. Some moments were challenging (I wasn't used to doing so much yoga in a day and hadn't been a student in many years lol), but all classes were great and I learned so much! The program has really created a great foundation for my journey.
In the end, I felt like family and can't wait to go back. I feel lucky to have had diverse teachings from such great and talented teachers including Shyam (yoga and philosophy classes), Devika (meditation, self-healing and mantra chanting), Sachi (yoga) and Christin (yoga). This is an honest and hard-working family owned company and you won't regret your decision...
Read moreNow I can say or acknowledged that the mind is different from empty space, which is also formless, in that it has clear light nature and the ability to perceive objects. Our minds are like mirrors smeared with filth our minds clear light nature is polluted by the delusions. However, just as the adventitious filth isn't inextricably mixed with the potentially pure, clear mirror beneath, similarly the delusions are not one with the mind. An appropriate method, such as washing with soap and water, will clean the mirror; the right way to purify the mind of the delusions and their impressions, the subtle obscurations, is to practice Dharma. This results in the ultimate happiness of enlightenment and, since the minds of all sentiment beings have clear light nature, all have the potential to become Buddhas. The difficulty lies in the finding the opportunity and the interest to practice Dharma. What a simple way to understand the Nirvana and its processes; this wouldn't have been possible with Mangal's passion and patience to educate me and my non-buddhas minds. It's simply magic of 5days Introduction to Buddhism. Programs Schedules Meals Ambience Facilities...
