Hotel Hermitage — Hotel in Ratnanagar

Very nice resort at the river side. You can see some rhinos and crocodiles if you're lucky. This was very relaxing place after our trek. We enjoyed the pool and wished we could stay longer. We had our own little cottage with private bathroom and hot shower. Rooms were clean. Food was nice in form of a buffet. There are some coffee and souvenir shops nearby. I suggest you to try Chitwan wine, it's very good. We only spent two nights and went to see safari. I suggest you take the jeep option. Elephant ride is too long and annoying. You get hit by trees all the time and the ride is super bumpy and uncomfortable. You can also take a boat ride among the crocodiles and visit elephant nursery. Overall, the whole safari is not worth the travel but the nature is nice. We only saw a few rhinos so I guess you must be really lucky to see some other animals. You can also rent a guide and walk through the jungle which is pretty interesting. Make sure wear long sleeves, pants, use repelent and don't wear shiny colors. You should also have ankle shoes. This hotel needs a complete renovation. May be because of the flood few months back, things were not properly fixed yet.

The big complain is that the AC is not working properly and we were sweating even in the mid night. We switched the rooms two times but ACs in all the rooms are same. Faulty electric system made the mobile charging difficult. Rooms were smelling the fungus and even the bath rooms were smelling bad.

My kind request to the hotel management, please do not take the bookings if you are completely not ready yet for the service after the damage. This way you will ruin the holiday of the guests and your reputation too. Hope I can give you the 5 stars next...
