We were two friends & booked this hotel for one night, paid a month in advance using CC. Guys at the reception tried to scam us with rent once we are about to checkout.
We checked in at around 1300 hours, since we had paid in advance, the guy at reception collected city tax etc. from us and handed us over the keys giving the impression that 100% payment has been received ( since city tax was only thing left which we paid right there). There was another guy for the night shift at reception, we kept interacting with him while going out, coming in. We had to check out at 0600 hours in morning due to early flight which we coordinated at night with this new guy. When we went to reception in morning, to our horror; the same guy told us that they didn't receive the payment for the room from Agoda. We had a flight to catch and the guy wanted to take advantage of our position and asked for payment again. I showed him proofs including credit card transaction that I had paid 100% in advance. However, he wasn't willing to accept anything but money again. When I got his intention I asked him to forward an email to Agoda (Infront of us) with the complaint that Hotel has not received payment for my booking (if he wants us to pay again). Since he knew he couldn't ask for same amount from Agoda which he had already received; he started diffusing the situation by saying that we can leave & he will contact Agoda later etc. etc. We later re-confirmed from Agoda that payment was made to hotel by Agoda, however, as Agoda said, Hotel never responded to Agoda emails or calls.
Please avoid this Hotel & if at all you stay here please be sure to confirm and re-confirm from reception guys that they had received payment well before checkout, if you don't want them to blackmail you when you are getting late from flight. Rest .... Hotel for living standard is acceptable since the prices are on the cheaper side. Near Tram and at one corner of the city centre. However, you wouldn't find anybody at reception for this hotel because there is another hotel in the same building called 'G Hotels' where the reception guys manage both sides from there, which looked awkward to us. Read moreMy partner and I stayed in The Camp Inn Hotel for two nights, and we do not recommend it!
The price was way too high for the quality of the place, and we did not get the room, we booked. There was a queen-size bed with only one single duvet, although we booked for two people. Luckily, we brought a sleeping bag for the bus journey there, which I ended up using, while my partner used the single duvet...
The room was small and compact with an internal window to the hallway, which was not clear in the booking description. It was not possible to get fresh air in the room.
There were no hooks for hanging towels in the bathroom, and no hangers to store clothes - I asked for some in the reception, but never got them.
I am allergic to gluten and lactose, which I noted in the booking comments and further wrote in an e-mail to the hotel 2 weeks in advance. Upon arrival, I made sure with the reception staff that they would be able to accommodate my allergies during breakfast the following day. They ensured me this was no problem! However, it turned out they were not able to accommodate these needs, and when I asked the staff during breakfast, they seemed arrogant and told me to have some fruit. A bit disappointing, when I made an effort to contact them via e-mail long in advance and double checked with the reception.
Perhaps the experience would have been acceptable, if the price was reasonable, but €300 for two nights was definitely not worth it! We will return to Amsterdam, but will never use this hotel again or recommend it to anyone.
I gave it 2 stars, as they let us store our backpacks in their storage room for free, the kitchen lady was nice, and the bed was...
Read moreIf you are reading this, you are doing what I should have done before I booked this hotel. Apologetic receptionist, nice person, who as a first thing, starts to promote “much nicer” hotel next door, and asks right away, to direct all the complains to him personally , hesitantly hands us cards to our rooms, and we instantly know something is not right. No bedbugs on me (I hope), which is pleasant surprise. But the weird insect flying in the room, all the shapes of stains on the wall and the side table , dust, random napkin with something on it lying on the bedside floor, windows to the corridor - which gives that “in the middle of the night” wibe at 11 am, floor makes you want to buy flip flops to be able to step into the shower, uncontrollable air-con,(Receptionist lowered it one step, but it could have been done only for 5 rooms at the same time so I still got a cold from it), and to be honest , so far the worst hotel I have visited. Friends left immediately, I stayed because I am a rat. But , was it worth to maybe save some money on a hotel? No. Please don’t do it...
