Reeeal class act of a place if you want to experience passive aggressive, blatant racist service. Avoid this place if you happen to not be white or a person of color.

Just an edit in response to the owner, I don't particularily feel safe or welcomed to come back to talk about my experience, but long story short the staff should be trained better to treat everyone the same and with respect. I don't know if that can even be taught anymore, or maybe better screening so you know your staff won't be racist. From the moment I stepped in to the store, it took a while for both people behind the bar to even acknowledge me even though the cafe was quiet - to top it off, they acknowledged the guy behind me who came after. I was willing to let that go, but hearing them also speculate about my race being "Chinese", which anyone with basic human decency should know it's not fair to assume what someone's race is, and fyi not every asian person is from China. Not to mention, clearing my drink without asking if I was done. And then lastly, it was my genuine mistake to not hear the lady working the first time she said the store was closed since I had earphones on. But for her to say how I was "deaf" to her coworker and for her to sarcastically say "bye" as I leave. Anyone can have a bad day, but really these 4 incidents back to back gave me the benefit of the doubt. It's such a shame when all I wanted was to enjoy a cup of coffee only for staff to treat me like a nuisance and to...

I first heard of friedhats through my local Cafe here in Perth Australia. These guys have been dishing out the most awesome roasts and spreading them across the globe so I thought it was high time I dropped by for a visit during my eurotrip.

The FUKU Cafe location isn't exactly central Amsterdam, so it was a bit of a destination venue for us. 15min tram ride to a more laidback part of Amsterdam which my guess was intentional as the vibes were CHILL when we walked in. People had their furry friends in and around the cafe. They also had a cool recycle chute for their reusable bean bottles and a vintage vending machine down the front to dispense aforementioned bottles.

Need I get started on the actual coffee? Best pourover of my eurotrip was consumed in this place. Perfectly extracted, tasting notes shining through. The owner was down to chat and the merch on offer was cool to boot. If I lived in Amsterdam, no doubt I'll be riding my hipster fixie to this joint every morning before the grind. Must visit for any specialty...

Mixed feelings, every time I came it’s a to different experience.

I’ll not take in account having had the luck that lex made a coffee once. The difference is to big in coffee experience in between the people working.

But I have also seen a difference in the price of their beans ordered online, and the bottles in the store. Though this might have maybe been a typo on the website or on the laminated price tags on the shelves. The biggest point is that coffee isn’t consistent by who brews. There are moments you are in a lot more luck when someone with a higher understanding of coffee here brews. It’s not about skill. Because their coffee roasted is good enough, that when just having grounded coffee and you toss water on top without a brewing method it will blow away most other coffees around town.

But yea, at this point till maybe the owners come back behind the bar more this will stay rating like this and an experience of just brewing their...

My visit to Friedhats FUKU Cafe was a mix of highs and a single low. The coffee itself was outstanding. My iced latte had a lovely, subtle floral note that was perfectly balanced, not at all overpowering. My friend's iced filter coffee was equally impressive, with a delicate, vinous flavor profile that was truly unique and enjoyable. Both coffees were a testament to the quality of their beans and the skill of the baristas. The only drawback was the wait time. We had to wait over 20 minutes for our coffees, which felt quite long. While I understand that great coffee can't be rushed, it's something to be aware of if you're in a hurry. Overall, I highly recommend Friedhats FUKU Cafe for anyone who appreciates a meticulously crafted cup of coffee and has the time to spare. The flavors are worth the wait!

The baristas here are true artisans, crafting each cup with precision and passion. The attention to detail in every pour and the carefully selected beans contribute to a cup of coffee that offers pure joy. The ambiance is inviting, with cozy nooks for solo coffee contemplation. The staff's knowledge about the various coffee profiles is impressive, and they're more than happy to guide you through the menu to find your ideal brew. Their attitude is very kind and friendly. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to a specialty coffee enthusiast in Amsterdam. I've had one of the best coffee experiences throughout my coffee journey in Europe. Thank you for everything; I wish you guys the best! ☕🌟
