If you like your hotels baking hot like the sun, with rubbish never cleaned in the doorway, then this is the place for you. Having read previous reviews I thought that it may not be the best, but it was even worse than I thought.||Reception staff seemed stuck to their seats, probably due to the fact there was aircon in reception, no where else in the building had this luxury. Maybe if they had moved more than a foot away from their desk they may have seen the rubbish accumulating at the entrance area.||The views from the room were spectacular, you could really see the beauty of the place looking out of the window, we saw broken chairs on the roof below us, alongside bottles of what I can only assume were the tears of the last inmates made to stay here. It was almost as if housekeeping had thought, well I could put it in the bin, but would be easier if I throw everything out of the window instead.||Amsterdam was a lovely place to visit, but, unless you really really dislike the person you are booking the room for, do not under any circumstances book...
Read moreGood location - great places for eating and drinking right outside and also right above a popular coffee shop. Rooms are very basic - TV was broken and beds similar to the ones you'd get in jail, and it's either the main room light or no light at all and also no air con (room was so hot even with the wonky desk fan providing a breeze) but at least the sheets were clean. The shared bathroom hasn't been given a proper clean in ages it looked. Staff were quick to change over rooms as the one we had been given originally hadn't been changed from the last guests so would call them helpful there. Was here as last resort as flight home was cancelled and even arriving at midnight I was browsing other places to stay for the night. After staying at another hotel around the corner for our trip until the day of cancelled flight , I've seen what else the area has to offer in a similar price range and absolutely wouldn't stay here or recommend it - but it beat sleeping...
Read moreA very basic hotel room. We had a twin room which included a TV (did not work) and a sink (needs updating- dirty tap). The carpet was stained, one curtain was dirty and there were dirty marks on the wall. The shared bathrooms were also basic. They were very small. No ventilation so the floor was always wet. However, they were clean and often smelled like bleach. The whole hotel smelled like cheap airfreshener - this was overwhelming at times. The steps are incredibly steap and narrow - getting to our room was challenging with luggage. The lady on reception who checked us in was friendly. The location is good as it was close to the centre and shops. There were plenty of places to eat. However, the hotel sits above 2 weed cafes. The smell of weed was always present and the loud music made it difficult to sleep. If you are staying for 1 night I would recommend. Longer stays I would suggest finding...
