Such a good hotel ! Would definitely recommend to others.
Location: A prime location as it close to Auckland airport, right across Manukau Westfield, next to the motorway, with lots of food restaurants around, including KFC and Denny’s around the corner, which is 24 hours. It is the perfect hotel for those visiting family/friends in South Auckland, especially if they cannot be bothered driving far.
Perks: Love how they offer discounted parking if you become a member with Accor. Very easy sign up process online as well. They also offered me a voucher for a discounted breakfast buffet at their restaurant which was nice as I had not chosen to include breakfast in my booking.
Room: I stayed in the deluxe room with a king size bed, room 303, and it had everything I needed. It was clean and well kept. The shower pressure was so good, the bed was comfortable, and I loved how thick the bedding was because knowing how cold it can get in Auckland, you definitely want to stay warm. Loved the fast check out, makes it easy for those catching the early morning flights.
Customer Service: 10/10. The staff were exceptional ! There were 2 staff members in particular who were amazing ! I regret not grabbing their names because they deserve their flowers.
There was a lady, maybe Islander, who checked me in at around 4:00 - 4:30 PM 25 July 2025. She greeted me with a smile and made the check in process so smooth. She let me know about the discounted parking rates, how to access those, and gave me the breakfast buffet voucher. I believe that would have been the same lady who made a courtesy call to my room to check in and see if I needed anything for my room.
The second staff member was a man, maybe Indian, whom I spoke to at reception around 1:00 - 1:30 PM 26 July 2025. After I chose to extend my stay last minute and accidentally booked the wrong room, he gave me a complimentary room upgrade. I did not have to check out and check in again as I got to stay in the same room. Truly appreciated that, thank you so much !
Suggestions: I would suggest putting liners in the small black bins. I would hate for them to get ruined. Cleaning the black marks in the corners of the bathroom window.
Other than that, one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Thank you Sebel Manukau, hope to stay with...
Read moreComing to Auckland to visit family who live in Manukau, we chose the Sebel and were not disappointed.
This is a quality hotel in a fantastic location, only a short drive from/to the airport with access to main arterial routes and all motorway entrances & exits. It's also close to Westfield mall and lots of restaurants. We had a rental car and over the 4nts we stayed (Fri, Sat, Sun & Mon) we had no problems with finding a hotel park with spots at the front and the back of the property - yes, parking does cost $10 per night, but it is worth it and if you join as an Accor member, this price is reduced which is handy.
We upgraded to a 1-bedroom Apartment (Room #602), and it was well worth the upgrade as we had a 'balcony and a fantastic view spanning Manukau - could see the city and it was right under the flight path which we loved for plane spotting. Room #601 would also be a great 1-bedroom apartment option with a similar view as it was right next door. The furnishings were simple but well appointed, the shower had excellent pressure and we loved the quality soaps & lotions (being in larger bottles attached to the wall but unable to be accessed/opened is great for the environment). The bed was a bit firm but still comfy and the pillows were fluffy - extra pillows, a blanket and robes were in the wardrobe. The only things I would suggest would be adding a dish scrubber to the kitchenette so we could clean our own dishes (it does have a dishwasher) and having a salt & pepper shaker. Other than it was great to have a Nespresso machine, tea, coffee and milk and there was also a mini bar (extra cost).
The service was also excellent. Priyam & her front desk team were exceptional, always greeting customers with a smile and nothing was a problem. We also had a-la carte breakfast one morning (eggs benedict, a coffee & chai latte) at their in-house restaurant (Ora Bistro), and the food & drinks were delicious, priced very well, and once again the service was excellent.
Having stayed in many places over the years, overall, we had a wonderful stay with The Sebel Manukau team, and we will definitely be choosing them each time we come up to Auckland.
Thanks so much team for your stellar...
Read moreWe booked the hotel 2 months in advance before our trip. We booked the deluxe king room for 13 nights, with breakfast included. Upon arriving, we were put in probably the worst room - view overlooked the back carpark, was on the ground floor, with a exit door and walkway right besides our window. At night people would walk past, slam the door, and talk, all of which disrupted our sleep.
Upon talking to reception, they said they had no more vacancies to swap us. After 2 days, we got swapped to a room that was on the front of the building, however it was still on the ground floor. We still could hear people talking, as well as cars leaving and trucks parking up with their reversing beep. We at least didnt have the exit door next to us, so we were ok with the swap.
At one point we were in reception getting tokens for our washing, and a man in buisness attire who just arrived at the hotel was put through to the 6th floor. Personally, it felt like business people were the focus for the hotel whilst travellers got dealt with whatever.
Ontop of all our expenses already with booking the room, we had to pay a extra $15 a day to park in the parking lot.
Overall it was a pretty disappointing stay. After paying so much money, with as much notice as we gave, to only be put on the ground floor, not once but twice was pretty annoying. Even if there were floors out of operation due to renovations, the property should have contacted us to let us know. Besides the misleading images, showing the view of rainbows end from what appears to be the 3rd or 4th floor, it was...
