Read moreI recently attended an event at the event centre in Manukau, and I was genuinely impressed by the entire setup. The first thing that catches your eye is the building itself—it has a very unique structure that stands out from the surrounding area. It’s modern yet reflects elements of local culture, making it feel like more than just a typical event venue.
One of the highlights for me was the large Māori totem located near the entrance. It’s beautifully carved and incredibly colourful, adding a strong cultural touch to the space. It’s not just decorative—it feels like a meaningful part of the venue’s identity and sets the tone for the experience as soon as you arrive.
Parking was no issue at all, which was a relief. There’s plenty of it on-site, and even during a busy event, it didn’t feel crowded or chaotic. The layout of the parking area is well thought-out, with clear signage and easy access to the entrance.
Inside, the halls are spacious and versatile. Whether it’s a formal gathering, expo, or community event, there’s more than enough room to accommodate large groups without feeling cramped. The acoustics were solid, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. It felt professional yet welcoming.
Overall, the Manukau event centre combines practical convenience with cultural flair. From the ample parking to the spacious interiors and the striking Māori totem, it’s a venue that manages to be both functional and visually memorable. I’d definitely recommend it for any large-scale event...
Read moreEDIT - I just wanted to come back and say that I left this review 2 years ago, and I am really glad to report that the issues I had have all clearly been addressed now - having attended the same symposium this week I was very impressed with the meals provided and the work done to ensure that the special dietary meals were only eaten by those with special dietary needs - thank you heaps for putting the effort in on this! Attended a conference here. Lots of rooms for multiple simultaneous break out rooms that were really easy to locate and navigate. But the food was a giant disappointment, and when at a multi day conference meals are what gets you through. The 'special diets' table was very under stocked, it went completely unlabeled on one day, so those with medically required diets, like those with coeliacs and dairy allergies, couldn't eat anything, and the staff looking after the table didn't know where to find any answers. Even on the day the special diets table was labelled there was no one making sure only those with special diets ate this limited amount of food, and as a result it all disappeared quickly with no replacements in sight, again meaning a large number of conference delegates went hungry. Foodwise it was the worst I've ever encountered at any conference...
