This is the most filthy, grotty and smelly motel I have EVER seen. I’m beyond shocked that they are allowed to run it in this state as it’s beyond unhygienic. It is quite literally a health hazard and, on my kids lives, I ’m not exaggerating. I’m beyond guttered as this was meant to be an amazing weekend away with my son and we wasted so much money on this place. We arrived to an overwhelmingly mouldy musty smelling room with carpets absolutely covered in great big brown stains everywhere. I took a tonne of photos as proof because it’s genuinely unbelievable, you can’t explain just how disgusting this place is. The bottom edges on every wall are plain filth and definitely have not been cleaned in a very long time. Every bench top/sink is cover in stains, the taps etc are so old they barely turn on. We didn’t dare get in the grotty shower. The toilet roll holder (like the big ones in public toilets) was hanging and fell every time you tried to use it. There’s this weird long concrete lump in the kitchen which you constantly trip over (see photos) The kitchen was so unhygienic and the fridge was warm as it wasn’t even going. The beds are so old and dirty, we layed our towels out and sleept on them. The wi-fi didn’t work. We didn’t get shown the pool or spa but another person staying said they were filthy and unusable. Then to top everything off, at 2 a.m a massive mirror fell off of the wall (the chain on the back of it snapped) and smashed over our entire room scaring the absolute hell out of us and left us extremely shaken and it took a long time for us to settle . We spent over an hour trying to pick up all of the pieces so we didn’t wake up and stand on it in the morning. When we explained what had happened to the owner she made us feel as though it was somehow our fault. There was no apology to us even though we were paying customers and had barely slept because of this incident and had done our best to clean it up so it wasn’t dangerous. All she said was “why didn’t you come and find us!” In an extremely rude tone and which at 2am was the last thing we felt like doing nor did we know where to even find them given the reception was locked up earlier. We also didn’t want to be rude and wake them up given they had to work first thing in the morning. She then turned around and said ‘you need hurry up, we got next guest coming” We were not rude at any time, we never complained (& there was alot to complain about!) we are very tidy and respectful so it felt like a slap in the face. We paid for a night away as a break and what we got was the complete opposite. I got in the car & bawled my eyes out as it was truly so shocking to me & I really wanted to treat my child to a weekend away. I have never ever seen such dirty carpets and rooms anywhere. This should not be allowed. I would be guttered if I was a tourist and booked this. I should be getting a refund after the mirror incident, instead it cost me $200 to stay in this sham of a motel. Please don’t consider staying here. I truly can’t describe just how vile this place is. I have a heap of photos to prove it. Such a let down for a weekend away, it just ruined it completely. I knew it was an older building or “70’s charm” as they put it but I was not at all prepared for what we got. Their photos on their website are not at all what it’s actually like. It’s extremely deceiving. The third photo isn’t even taken at their motel & they have photoshopped the carpet in the lounge kitchenette photo (you can see where they have blurred it) I actually hate complaining or doing reviews (given my name😂) and I hate to put down a small business but these people didn’t care about us at all so I don’t feel obliged to write a rave review. I’m only stating facts. I know this is an extremely long review sorry, I just really really don’t want anyone else’s holidays to be destroyed and I feel like these owners should be held accountable for their misleading website and the state in which they are satisfied and happy to rent these...
