The moment we drove our motorhome through the gates, I thought to myself "oh this place seems nice". As a matter of fact, the pleasant experience started days back when I phoned Tasman to inquire about the availability of a powered site.
Over the phone, Joyce (hope I remembered her name correctly. Many apologies if I didn't) very helpfully assisted with the booking and not long after a confirmation email arrived. It was all very professional and reassuring.
Professional is also my initial perception of the park's environment and setting. By that I don't mean the place looks cold. I was just struck by the blend of greenery and modern buildings. There's even a drive-thru' check in for motorhome! But not wanting to accidentally demolish the reception building, I opted to check in at the front desk. And again I was met with an all smiles welcome.
Incidentally this was our very last holiday park before we returned the motorhome. As far as I can recall, only the first holiday park had a leveled site. The rest we visited prior to Tasman all had uneven sites. Parking the motorhome on uneven ground caused water to leak from our shower and kitchen basin which was annoying. Tasman's site was not only sealed, it was perfectly leveled as well!
Cleanliness was faultless too. We used the kitchen and the showers, and we also inspected the very well equipped laundry room. As far as I can tell, everything was working as it should. And there's no time limit for the hot shower which made my wife so happy.
We were up late packing our bags and I noticed a man in high visibility jacket walking past several times. I can't be sure, but I think he's on night patrol. Wow. Even though we had felt safe everywhere we been to in NZ, the added assurance definitely gave us a total peace of mind.
Tasman's location was one of the reasons we had chosen to stay here for our last night in the motorhome. The motorhome depot is close by so it was so much more convenient. In fact after we'd checked out, we still had time for a leisurely breakfast and also visited the International Antarctic Center before driving to the depot.
We departed with very good impressions of Tasman Holiday Park Christchurch. So when I discovered that there are many Tasman Holiday Parks in Australia, I made a mental note to check them out in the future since my wife and I have always talked about visiting Tasmania. Thank you to the team at Tasman Holiday Parks, and see you...
Read moreOur recent stay at Tasman Holiday Parks Christchirch was really great except for the cleanliness of the rooms. The first room I'd booked was too small for our family of 4 so I went to reception to change rooms. While looking at that room I placed my crawling 9 month old on the kitchen/living room floor while I looked around and came back to find her with a handful of hair. I let reception know. Second room, a 2 bedroom motel unit, was much better and had a great set up for us and everything we needed/wanted. However the floor in the kitchen/living space had not been cleaned and had the remains of the last occupants split coffee/milk. It was getting late so I called through to reception to let them know. They advised that someone would come and clean it up (they arrived 2pm the next day). I improvised and used a blanket on the ground for a safe space for the baby and toddler to play. The curtain in the living space was covered in black mold so we made sure the kids didn't touch it. Upon check out I used the reception toilet and when flushing it exploded spraying water all over the floor, walls and me. Reception offered me a towel and luckily I asked the cleaners and got access back into our room to rinse my legs and shoes. Such an awful state to have to spend the day traveling in. The amenities for children were dated but awesome, we highly recommend staying here with kids. Heated pool was fabulous, the play ground and jumping pillow offered hours of fun. Games room, bikes, outdoor games etc. We used the washer and dryer and they were new and super easy to pay for via phone. Northlands Mall is close by for shopping, plenty of food places. Chipmunks is across the road too. Everyone that was staying there seemed to all be really enjoying themselves and it just had a great vibe. It was also Father's day so my daughter got to colour is some socks for him at reception which was so cute. Over all we really enjoyed our stay if the rooms were clean and mold free it would of been a...
Read moreBeen road trip holiday for 20 days from Auckland all the way down south to Dunedin and now on our way back and checked in couple nights here. We have stay a few holiday homes, Top 10 Holiday park and several other, including this one. Impressed by the reception office/building renovated rooms, a number of facilities, such as heated swimming pool with slides, dinner room, cooking area, tv rooms with heaps of comfy sofas, playing area for kids, timpoline for kids among other, game rooms, pool game etcs. The reception is down to 1 person and seem a bit unprofessional in welcoming guest and explaining A to Z for the check in. Asked for name, photo ID and credit card with my personal name although we had fully paid for the stay. Things get a bit stranger when i look through the reception area with a lot of groceries with price tag, such as potato chips, cookies, wines, soft drinks, and even milk😂 We were directed to our room using printed maps (just like other holiday park). When we were there, there is only 1 car parked in the area, but there are no line for car park and there are more than 10 rooms around. We thought we were lucky as we are the second car to park there. We settled down and go to the heated pool, we were impressed with the warm temperature, although the pool water looks cloudy. On the way back to our rooms, several other cars parked behind us both parallel parked and reverse parked. 😂 Next, the room is basically minimalist. 2 double deck beds, a wall insert table, 2 high chairs, and 2 normal chair, and a toilet with shower. Thing gets more interesting when we put our stuff on the beds and feel the bed bend downwards. We found they use woods to overcome the broken bed frame. Check photos 😂 Good luck...
