I visited Welcome India restaurant tonight around 10:30 PM, just before closing time, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. Despite arriving close to their 11 PM closing, the staff welcomed me warmly without any hesitation. I ordered the Samosa Chaat as a starter and the Chicken Tikka Masala for my main course. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The samosa chaat was perfectly spiced and refreshing, while the chicken tikka masala was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. A special mention to the waitress/receptionist who served me, she was incredibly kind, humble, and professional. Her customer service was outstanding and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for genuine Indian food and excellent service, even late in...
Read moreLittle place, tight budget no doubt, and various covid things won't have helped. But, Really ,really good food! Front of house run off her feet. Not many dine out so much so obviously no budget for waiting staff, but we were not kept waiting at all. I'm from UK which has a very healthy population of the various nations that make up India. We are spoilt for choice of Indian cuisine and for various reasons , I've built up a fair experience of the Indian cuisines,( mostly Bangladeshi as is common in UK), on offer. I'm aware that the food we experience is actually quite different from that in India and so my comments are limited to the anglicised versions. This little restaurant deserves to go far. Wonderfully delicious, with good service under pressure. Dine here, I recommend it...
Read moreWhat a wonderful gem of a restaurant. Found quite by accident on a visit to Chch and had one of our most enjoyable lunches of the year there, I reckon. Service was super friendly, food was prepared to absolute perfection and it was excellent value for money. Our toddler's annoying dietary requirements were no problem at all and she absolutely hoovered down her food. We had a wide variety of dishes from chicken to lamb to paneer to vegan and none of them disappointed. Portions were maybe a little small but that might just be because you never want to reach the last bit. Lunchtime offer was very reasonable indeed and I'm certain we'll return when we are in town again in the future. It's not just recommended; it's a must visit place and worth a bit of a detour...
