Fountain City Motor Inn — Hotel in Hamilton

THE PROPERTY WAS INFESTED WITH BED BUGS!!! I will NEVER stay there again. I had personal belongings which could not be treated for bed bug infestation and resulted in personal losses. The receptionist didnt even consult the owners to help cover the full cost. I even offered to send invoices as proof and she just would not consider any other option.

The sheets were yellow and had stains on them, I have been bitten and had to throw out multiple belongings that could not be washed in at least 60 degrees washing cycle. Other items I have put in the wash and have been damaged due to the heat. These bugs are so nasty and take a lot of time and effort to eliminate. You have to wash all of your belonging in at least 60 degrees hot water and put for at least 30min in the dryer. My suitcase, leather shoes and handbag had to be thrown out. My coat and other clothing was damaged because of the intense washing cycle.

The receptionist only cared about money and the financial loss to the Motor Inn and didnt care about what I have been through, the bites on my body and the traumatic experience. On top of all of this I have had to spend my own personal time and money to ensure that I do not take these bugs home with me. My advice to anyone would be to...

Strange mix of dated and tired decor with some modern revamped facilities. It was||clean with a comfortable bed. There is a modern heat pump and decent dining table with superior chairs. Sky TV and free WI-FI. The en-suite was tiled and modern but with the shower shelf loose and useless. The vanity unit drawer was broken. The hot water temperature was set dangerously high with danger of serious scalding. ||Living area lighting abysmal - kitchenette area very dark. Power points scarce and one broken, but a power-bank was located in the wardrobe under spare pillows. With no security stays on windows, night time ventilation was zero.||This unit needs some serious repair and redecoration. Receptionist and housekeeping staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Unit 3 was large and very clean. Bathroom was spotless and very modern. The rest of the unit was less modern but certainly comfortable and spacious with a large kitchen with all the basics for motel meal preparation including a large tea pot which is often lacking. We were very impressed that there was only a "swish" of traffic noise despite being near the road. Lovely thick dark curtains which made the room perfect for sleeping. Large comfortable bed. Next to a park and took us 20 minutes to walk to River walk. I would have preferred brighter lights in the kitchen and livng area but would stay again.
