I'm leaving a 5 star review because I don't like bringing down a rating of a small business. Overall, it was a good experience. As you can see from the pictures, the presentation is beautiful and the service was great. Unfortunately, the actual taste could be much improved upon. For one, the fried chicken was not seasoned very well. Not a big deal since I can chalk that up to me being an American who's used to excessive spices in most of my food but I think adding a little bit for salt to the breading would do wonders for the contrast to the sweet waffles, which is traditionally how it's supposed to be served. The bigger issue was how dry the chicken was, in addition to it being a bit cold. It didn't seem like it was fresh out of the fryer, which it seems that they are more health conscious here so that's understandable. I'm not sure if they marinate it at all but I would highly implore them to do so if they don't (buttermilk with plenty of spices would be best but any dry brine would be good). All things considered, I would still recommend trying this cafe out, as it has a great vibe and is very inviting.

Okay so you find yourself lost in Hamilton the morning before leaving and you need COFFEE and some food. Where do you go, well Ginger & Honey Cafe of course. First there is parking out front, second you will be welcomed with a smile. There is limited seating and they do take bookings over the phone. Now let's talk coffee and food. We chose here for the coffee and you will not be disappointed. The food came out hot and fast and it was excellent. My wife said the porridge was one of the best in NZ. Our Bacon omlette and pancakes were equally great. I'm not over exaggerating here it was really good. The staff was very attentive and polite. I mean you have a multitude of choices here in Hamilton but if are only going to go to one Cafe or need coffee like me, Go Here, don't delay, seriously you will not be disappointed.

A Promising Venue in Need of Polishing

Nestled in the heart of the city, Ginger and Honey Cafe offers a promising array of food options in a cozy setting. While the menu boasts tantalizing choices sure to please any palate, the cafe could benefit from some much-needed attention to cleanliness and aesthetic appeal.

Upon entering Ginger and Honey Cafe, one is greeted by the enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee and delicious pastries. The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes, from hearty breakfast options to savory lunchtime favorites. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic avocado toast or a flavorful sandwich, there’s something to satisfy every craving.

However, despite the culinary delights on offer, it’s hard to ignore the cafe’s need for a thorough cleaning and a makeover. The tables and floors often appear neglected, and the overall ambiance could use a refresh to create a more inviting atmosphere for patrons.

That being said, the potential of Ginger and Honey Cafe is undeniable. With a little TLC and attention to detail, this establishment has the makings of a true neighborhood gem. Investing in regular cleaning routines and updating the decor could elevate the dining experience and attract a wider audience of discerning customers.

In conclusion, while Ginger and Honey Cafe offers a commendable selection of food options, it falls short in terms of cleanliness and aesthetic appeal. With some improvements in these areas, it has the potential to become a standout destination for both locals and...

Tucked away in the heart of Hamilton, this café is a hidden gem that has quickly become a favorite for locals and visitors alike. From the moment you step inside, the welcoming atmosphere, cozy seating, and aroma of fresh coffee invite you to relax and savor every moment.

The star of the menu, however, has to be their Eggs Benedict. It’s simply exceptional. The poached eggs are cooked to perfection every time, with yolks that are wonderfully runny without being too messy. The hollandaise sauce is rich, creamy, and has just the right balance of tanginess and smoothness to complement the eggs. Served on top of freshly toasted sourdough bread and paired with either traditional bacon or their delightful smoked salmon option, this dish is nothing short of amazing. The sides—whether it’s crispy hash browns or a fresh garden salad—add the perfect finishing touch.

The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring you’re well looked after from the moment you sit down. Whether you're visiting for a leisurely breakfast or a quick brunch, this café truly delivers on quality, taste, and service. If you’re in Hamilton and looking for a meal that will brighten your day, the Eggs Benedict here is an...
