Starbucks Invercargill — Restaurant in Invercargill City

The counter lady, who introduced herself as a manager of this branch but without a name tag on uniform, didn't tell me that they ran out of whip cream and gave me a toffee nut crunch latte without cream and even crunchy sprinkle on it. At first, she explained that our Toffee nut latte does not come with whip on top.

Thought it was weird but tried to accept it and had a few sips. It didn't taste any good, so I went back and complained about it.

Then she told me that they ran out of whip, and wee crunchy things did not change a drink much, so it was not a big deal🤷🏽‍♀️

She eventually got it refunded for me, but had some arguement, saying she was not supposed to refund it because I already drank some and I should have come as soon as possible to tell about this. Horrific...

This place is colder than Antarctica. The automatic door at the front triggers whenever anyone goes near it for napkins or to put rubbish away or pick up their drink. Terrible cafe layout. In practical terms it opens every 10 seconds venting in ice cold air all the way to the mall. Absolutely worst cafe experience ever. No idea why they don’t just lock that door and allow foot traffic only from the mall. The mall door entry is right outside anyway. I’ve been to countless Starbucks around the world, none with the stupidity of venting in air from the antarctic for their customers...

Food and drinks were nice (but you can’t really go wrong with a franchise like Starbucks) and the service was ok but the cafe was filthy. Our table had not been wiped and we were there for over 30 minutes before the other 4/5 tables were cleared of their dirty cups/rubbish (despite no customers waiting and 4 members of staff working). Eventually, someone came to clear tables but no one came to clean/wipe them.
