We stayed in the disability wheelchair friendly unit (5 I think) for 1 night as we were wrapping up our road trip of the South Island. The hotel staff is friendly and tries to be helpful. They allowed us a late checkout which we appreciated. The included breakfast was also appreciated. We had to bring our breakfast to our room since the breakfast room was upstairs and my wheelchair confined wife could not climb the stairs. The grab bat for the toilet is on the right side. The roll in shower could mean issues for some travelers. The motel had a fold down shower bench but it was mounted on the same wall as the shower controls. To use the bench would mean the user would be faced opposite and away from the shower controls. Don't know if there is a way to remount the bench on a side wall which would give the user a reasonable chance to use the controls. For us though, it was not an issue as we brought our own shower stool so we could bypass the installed shower bench. Overall, though, we found the motel met our needs very well. Our room overlooked the harbor which was nice. There is not much else around the motel so a car would be very helpful to an...

Read moreWe stayed here the nights before and after a 2 night trip away at Abel Tasman National Park. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and let us keep valuables in their safe and store luggage with them whilst we were away. We were allocated different rooms on each of the nights, a Courtyard Studio at first, and then a Harbourview Studio when we returned. Both were comfortable and spacious with a nice little area for food preparation. In the Harbourview it was particularly nice to have a small balcony where we could relax in the evening overlooking the harbour. Everywhere is exceptionally clean. It is a little way out of the town, however, there is a nice riverside walk which will take you there in 10/15 minutes. It was also great to have a continental breakfast included, with a good selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toasting breads, jams...
