We decided to stay at this motel based on the website photos for the various rooms. We choose the one-bedroom unit with poolside entry because we liked the quality-look of the bathroom. Upon getting our room we found the bathroom was not the one shown. It was okay but misleading, which was disappointing. However, our main concern was the state of some of the furniture. The outside chair had dreadful breaks/slices/rips in the plastic. I have included photos. When a site states, 'quality', that is what we expect. |The owners were not there so I was given their email to voice our concerns over the furniture and the issue that if showing a bathroom then that is what you should expect to get. |The email I received stated that they were aware of the chairs and were awaiting delivery of new ones with no dates for delivery. |Really? These chairs have wear and tear on the arms from months of use. The bottoms are dropping out? Why not get another design if the same ones are not available.|The outside chair complaint reply: The housekeeping team had cleaned the unit prior to our arrival and had not mentioned it? They have replaced it.|Excuse me? Kind of implies we were responsible or their housekeeping team need a lesson on quality.|Bathroom issue reply. They have several units with the same bathroom we had and the photos are not necessarily directed at a single unit? The motel is 20 years old.|What? The age of the motel is not a client's concern. If you state 'quality' then quality is what you expect. Be honest and show the other bathrooms.|I answered back by saying an apology, rather than a defensive approach might have been in order. Haven't heard back,|Bit of a shame as the units were roomy and generally fine. Spending a bit of money on two new chairs and one outside chair seems the smartest way to go rather than expect client's to use shabby furniture. As to the bathroom, show the...
Read moreThe review is given purely for atrocious client service, as we didn’t end up actually staying there. We booked a room online a full year ahead of travel, clearly indicating we only wanted a one night stay. We received a booking confirmation in writing from the property immediately referring to the one night stay period we had requested. Nearly a year later, 4 days before our scheduled stay, the owner contacted us to claim that they couldn’t confirm the booking because they had a minimum stay policy. They “couldn’t understand” how we had been able to make a booking for one night, despite it being their own booking system that we had used. There was no apology for their error or the extreme delay in advising us of it but they offered us a 2 night stay in an inferior room to the one we had booked. We didn’t take up this offer as we had already arranged the rest of our holiday based on the initial booking confirmation and didn’t see why we should be expected to pay for a second night we couldn’t stay. A very disappointing experience, totally opposite to everywhere else we...
Read moreGreat location. We have a nice room, no view because there are 2 rooms in the motel allowing pets. My service dog was loving the landscaped grounds. I tried to book a second night, but they're full.....they won't accommodate us in a 3rd room even though the hotel is empty. I was educated about allergies etc.by the manager. However, all of these rooms are tile and no carpet. We've recently stayed at Chateau Tongariro, Paihia Beach Resort and Spa, Te Kahu....$250 to $499 per night for the past few weeks all of the staff recognized us and greeted our dog by first name. We've never felt so welcome. The best hotels are the most accommodating. Taupo Suncoast. Te Pehu Tavern$200 nightly.....so you get my drift..... it's not about allergies.
For example, you wear a sweater and it has some dog hair.....does it just disappear! Ha! Think about this while traveling public transit. Then spa tub was covered as we arrived but still required cleaning. The manager is friendly and the hotel needs to update it's service dog policy.
Hopefully, Breakers will get it...
