Rosemary Drake is the star of Pipinui Motel! Rose welcomed us with open arms when we started our 5-Day stay in Whangamata. As our authorative source before we even arrived, she had mapped out on the website all the best spots to eat, drink and experience. From best coffee, to best eats, to best activities she knew it all. A great experience for us as tourists! We chose Pipinui Motel because of this attention to detail and its quiet location: its boutique, its roomy, and the beds are super super comfy. Each day Rose checked in with us to see if there was anything we needed. Whether it be a spade for Hot Water Beach (which she provided), a frying pan for the fish (which unfortunately we didn't catch), or a great recommendation for local pizza in Whangamata (which is Neros btw). She also provided us with all the standard things would expect from a boutique Motel: fresh linen, fresh towels, and for a tiny fee she even did our fishy washing. The Pipinui Motel property is tidy, spacious, off the beaten track (but still close enough to walk home if too many drinks at the Whangamata Ocean Sports Club AKA The WOSC). Best of all its reasonably priced for the experience. Would come back to Whangamata and stay again because of the above. The other properties in the area look run down by comparison (plus they don't have Rose). Unequivocally 5-Stars.

We have stayed in many Hotels and Motels around the world. This Motel is one of the cleanest well appointed places we have stayed. Even the other guests commented how clean and lovely it is. It's only 200m to the water and in a really quiet part of town but the shops and restaurants are not far away at all. Rosemary is such a lovely and accommodating host. Couldn't recommend Pipinui Motel high enough. You certainly won't be disappointed.

Our host, Rose was a real gem, she prepared a lovely breakfast and even a list of local attractions and eating recommendations. The room was modern, clean and spacious. Very happy with my decision to stay there.

Fantastic! We could not be happier with the Pipinui motel. Modern and spotless, everything brand new, and beautifully maintained. Very nicely appointed, with everything you could need in the kitchenette, bathroom and main bedroom. Quality linen, plenty of towells, and nice products throughout. Rose is the owner/operator and very welcoming. Good parking directly in front of the unit. Rose even bakes here own chocolate chip bikkies as complimentary with the tea and coffee! Quiet and private, close to the harbour for safe swimming, and the main beach. Also close to the most awesome Whangamata Ocean Sports Club which was sensational for dinner and drinks. (Much like the surf clubs on the Gold Coast). We had such an enjoyable experience, swimming, walking the beaches, then ending up at the club. No hesitation giving 5 stars. We'll defnitely return to the...

Small but perfectly formed. The room was beautifully fitted and unlike your average hotel. It as included a drying yard out back and a pleasant seating area in front alongside your parking slot. The furnishing was top class and the bathroom exceptional. The kitchen has a small number be of sacs and drinks for purchase - a good idea I thought but we had brought our own. My only negative is the kitchen equipment which given the facilities was missing key items, including a drying pan and spatula which we could have used at breakfast time. That said, as we were only here two days I didn't ask the friendly host - Barry. It's possible we would have provided if...
