Hmmm. Weird place. I arrived at 9pm and check in was confusing as everything closed, no signs, and lights off and no advice from the venue as how to check in at that time. Finally found someone in their dressing gown. ||Jetwashing started on the building the next morning at 8.30am (not advised), water was coming into my room, it was so noisy, along with the workers who were doing the job right outside my doors and windows, shouting to talk to each other and swearing non stop. ||Spa bath so old, incredibly noisy when running and only 2 jets working out of the 6. Lots of dirt came out of the first time turning on jets, needs a clean, well really the whole thing needs replacing. Also the bathroom fan is disgustingly noisy too, nothing is relaxing about any of that experience.||Room is quite dated, especially the kitchenette, fridge leaked water, frying pan needs replacing, no scissors, and no washing up liquid so couldn’t do dishes. The sofa is the most uncomfortable thing ever.||Third night of stay I was told I’d have to move rooms in the morning because someone else was booked into my room. I said to cancel my booking, they didn’t even try to make it right or offer any options for me to stay. The next morning early I get knocking on my door to move my car in the car park so they can move a trailer… couldn’t even let me enjoy just one morning in peace!! ||Some good things, huge room, amazing tv, love that it swivelled so could be seen anywhere in room, gorgeous grounds and really lovely setting.||All I wanted was a quiet peaceful relaxing stay, I didn’t ask for anything, I didn’t bother anyone, I just wanted some peace, but never got it, I’m home and more tired than when I left. Paying more per night than anywhere else in the area, based on the really awful service and dated room I wouldn’t stay again...
Read moreMy husband and I got married here at Wallaceville House 10 months ago (embarrassingly so its taken us this long to send through our review). Let me start by saying.. everything, and I mean absolutely everything was perfect! From the the first time we reached out to Rainbow and her team, to a year later when we said our "I do's", she was the most hands on, patient, above and beyond person you could have help facilitate your special day. The venue - The venue is absolutely picturesque. I would describe Wallaceville as romantic (exactly what I envisioned in a wedding venue before actually seeing Wallaceville). The stunning gazebo where we said our vows, the beautiful gardens we wandered around for photos, the old style ball room we held our reception with the big white balcony to overlook the venue. Pop online and check out their photo's - you will know what I mean. The food, my goodness people did not stop complimenting the food, to this day we still have guests from our wedding mention how good our food was - the best part was that the food and drink was flowing - so our guest were very happy! And finally, the best thing (in my opinion) that this venue has to offer is the service of Rainbow and her team - I felt completely as ease knowing that they were managing our day. Anything I queried, was unsure about, Rainbow was there to help. From checking in on me while getting ready, to running around the venue, here there and everywhere, to seeing her pop up behind the bar at times throughout the evening. This woman is talented! Her and her team do an amazing job here at Wallaceville and I really can't recommend them enough. If your looking at Wallaceville House as a venue option - go to the venue and see it in person, its such...
Read moreOur 2020 Christmas present from members of our family was to be taken to uWallaceville House for Christmas dinner. We'd been to functions there previously and loved it.||This time we were required to be there by 12, but then waited for over half an hour before the meal was served. This would have been fine, but the wine served was un drinkable and the nibbles offered were a had full of mini chocolate bars - not what you want to eat before a meal. The meal itself was appalling. The boiled vegetables were undercooked and the roasted ones overcooked. The turkey was dry, and the person serving the ham and roast meat didn't know how to carve properly. The Christmas pudding must have been cut by someone equally inexperienced, because it comprised mainly of a plateful of crumbs. Then to top it off there was neither enough cups nor coffee brewed for everyone present to have a drink. I think the person(s) responsible must have bought the cheapest food and wine available, and employed inexperienced chefs and serving staff (at least the latter were nice). It was not up to the standard one would expect from a meal at...
