Penny's Accommodation — Hotel in Palmerston North

For the past five years, every time i visit Palmerston North, Penny's Accommodation has always been my first choice. In my first trip, i ended up at Penny's by mistake because the other place where i was supposed to stay messed up my booking. However, just a week at Penny's, there was no other place that i wanted to stay in. Such friendly people they are. As a person who loves to cook, i fell in love with their fully equipped commercial style kitchen. It was so clean and organised. The room was cleaned daily, and provided with fresh sheets and towels. Never did any of my personal stuff or groceries go missing. I got to meet so many people from so many different places while staying at Penny's Accommodation that i never felt lonely during my stay (which usually was for a month or two per visit). I even used to go to Jetts Fitness Center at nights without any fear while staying here. Such a safe and well lit location, close to all amenities. I even recommended Penny's to my friends here in Fiji who were visiting PN, and they too would agree to every word i have said here. Cant wait to...

I was expecting a lovely hotel room, which should have been clean. |I was greeted nicely, but that was the end of the niceness about the accommodation.|My room was dirty, vacuumed around the furniture, not underneath it. So dust and dirt and bits of crisps never been moved.|I was quite disgusted that I was to share a bathroom and toilet.|The toilet was not clean, I didn’t use the shower either which also was not clean. |I was told that I could use the kitchen downstairs at any time,but when I went to use it in the morning it was locked.|The road was noisy, so was the stairs, not carpeted, and the other guests were loud.|I would say that this is more of a student accommodation, and even a backpackers, not a hotel.|Very...

I loved my time at Penny's so much I'm absolutely going to stay here again during my next visit to NZ. We had a flat tire on the way from Taupō & they kept the reception open for us till 11pm. Rooms are so comfy and felt like staying at a sweet (clean) relatives house in all the best ways. Shared bathrooms/shower with other tenants but are very clean, comfortable, and respectful. Shared full kitchen with dining hall where I had a chance to chat with locals and have some nice socializing. Some really great folks at Penny's! Also very affordable which never hurts for...
