The Green Tent — Hotel in Rodney

This has to be hands down one of, if not the best places we have got to experience, everything about it gives a special feeling. First time in a yurt, very blown away by it's beauty. The place feels so secluded and peaceful, it was so clean and unique with everything you need and more to stay entertained. The owners are some of the kindest and best hosts we have ever met, from leaving notes about the place to make it as easy as possible with recommendations on where to eat and what to do in the area. We also got our car stuck down the road and Jo and Matty came down as soon as they could and saved us haha. Jo and Matt were so empathic and we don't know what we would've done without their help. We wish could give more than 5 stars! Spent our anniversary here and would highly recommend to others for a romantic get away 🥰 but there are cute little bunk beds as well for the kids if you wanted a unique cozy getaway with the family.

This place is absolutely 10/10 in all ways. The yurt is fantastic and has everything you need, including a decent sized TV for wet days like we had. The surroundings are so so well thought out with so many nooks and spaces to enjoy. Excellent bathroom, especially the heavenly bath. Kitchen so well equipped and those personal touches with a few drinks and nibbles were so appreciated. Every detail has been so well thought of here, and more! The green tent in Matakana was absolutely breath taking!!! The remote location, the escapism, the romantic backdrop and the the minimalist setting made for an easy, relaxing experience. The bonus for me was how close it is to Omaha beach and to Matakana township. I also loved the additional touches of breakfast, kombucha and chocolates - so thoughtful.
