Blenheim Spa Motor Lodge — Hotel in South Island

BEWARE! I Got scammed and Ripped off. I Checked for information at the Motel's Web Page and the add had a "One unit left". I applied and submitted my personal and credit information, once the information was sent, the Motel's page went blank. I assumed that I was out of luck and the last unit was taken. I never got a reply from the Motel and no confirmation or reference number at all was received. As I am touring the country, they sent me a message on the day the reservation was confirmed (He sent me a copy of the reservation information he had, but not copied me), stating that if I cancelled the reservation not to worry. I checked my emails and did not have any messages from this Motel in my records relating to a confirmation from them. Again I am touring the country and have very limited access to the internet and any telephone calls with no identifier I refuse to answer. On the date of the purportedly reservation I got charged for the room and nothing that I did and explained to the owner of this Motel changed the charge. This is an old practice of unscrupulous Motels and Hotels around the world to maximize their earnings. They book all their rooms and if you happen to show up they deny having a reservation in your name, since they haven't sent you a record of their confirmation and, they do ask you to show that record, then your out of luck and with no room to stay for the night. But on the other hand, as is my case, you don't have any reference number, you do not know that they are going to charge for a no show and Wham, the charge is made to your credit card. Beware of this sham, if the same thing happens to you, call the Motel and get information directly from them, I guess that if I would've known of how they operate, I would've made that call to verify if a reservation had been made and not assumed that the room had...

Friendly reception, with advice given regarding local shopping. Reception area also provided details of local attractions and road map.||Tastefully decorated room was compact in size but sufficient to have a large comfortable bed, table with two chairs and a comfortable easy seat from which one could read and watch television.||Locating guest information and face cloths proved to be a small mission, with the former being eventually found in a drawer and the latter under the bathroom basin.||Bathroom was also of a compact size but contained an excellent shower over a spa bath. One absolute brilliant asset was that water for the spa bath was sourced through the same mixer used for the shower. This meant that the water temperature desired could be determined by your own comfort under the shower before filling the spa bath with water the same temperature. ||Because the bathroom was compact, items tended to be disbursed in various locations and provided no bench space around the hand basin.||Excellent location, with main shopping center being only a fifteen-minute walk away. Is located however on a State Highway, and traffic noise is noticeable....

Great location as your pulling into Blenheim heading from the South on your Left 500 metres from town centre We were met by a very down to earth and polite Gentleman behind the desk when we checked in, wonderful first impression. |Got our key and paid and walked to our room and we were blown away with how clean and tidy it is. Great Bedding, best pillows have had at any motel. Fully self contained with modern appliances. Rooms serviced Daily and everything topped up perfect. 2 good TVs and Sky with many channels. Great Bathroom with spa bath and shower, even nail buffers in bathroom and Soap bars etc. good quality coffee, hot chocolate etc. |Clean floors and Bathroom. Deck out off our room. Only issue was amount of noise that came through door as glass has been taken out and replaced with wood doesn’t seem to be an amazing seal around it so it can sound like door is open but ear plugs would fix that. |We will be back, Thankyou for your Hospitality we...
