Montana Lodge Motel, Blenheim, Marlborough, New Zealand — Hotel in South Island

We had a horrible experience with Montana lodge- what made it worse was Reception staff was rude, unapologetic and made out it was all our fault. |Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.|We booked over the phone on the recommendation of another motel in town that was fully booked. |We registered two cards with the reception staff. The first card we were told ‘wasn’t valid’ which it was, it was an NZ card we had used the whole trip. We then registered my NZ card which was accepted. |Arrived in at 7pm after a long day traveling up from Hanmer Springs to be told out room had been given away because it was 7pm and we said we would arrive at 6pm. |We had called at 5pm to confirm our booking by name and confirm the address of the motel!!! Which they confirmed over the phone. |They could have easily called us they had our phone number with all the other details of our booking! |Reception staff then said our booking wasn’t ‘confirmed’ because of our cards which both worked perfectly fine. |Ours was the last room and it was given to a walk in. |Reception staff was rude, unapologetic and made out it was all our fault. |Wouldn’t recommend to anyone,...

I stayed here with my group had to last minute book our accomodation due to poor weather cancelling our initial itinerary. The owner was extremely friendly, helpful and understanding. I can’t express enough how grateful we are for how he assisted us (poor timing, late night payment). I’d also like to acknowledge that someone from my group accidentally left their phone charger at the motel. We offered our bank details for him to charge us for the postage of sending the charger internationally but to our surprise, he didn’t charge us and instead wished us a good rest of our holiday. We were driving all afternoon and had to find a room to rest up for the rest of the drive to Picton, rang for a room outside the Montana lodge 10.30pm he was sleeping but more willing to help out, really greatful for his help, especially with it being so late, room was great, the double room i was in they had a kitchen with stoves for roast meals, shower runs a bit softly but overall, there is everything your need plus they have a pool at the back I...
