Methven Resort — Hotel in South Island

Just wrapped up an incredible seven-day stay at Methven Resort, and I can't wait to share how fantastic my experience was. From the moment I arrived until the very last minute, every department and every staff member contributed to making my trip truly special. The check-in process was a breeze, handled by the friendliest and most welcoming reception team. They provided me with all the information I needed, from dining hours to local activities, making me feel right at home instantly. My room was a true haven after long days of exploring. It was spotlessly clean, wonderfully warm, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept soundly every night. A huge thank you to the housekeeping team for their meticulous attention to detail; it was so nice to return to a fresh and tidy space each day. The on-site restaurant and bar were an absolute highlight. The continental breakfast each morning was a perfect start to my day, with a delicious variety of pastries and other tasty options. I also had dinner there several times, and the food was simply outstanding. The chefs clearly take pride in their work, and the service staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great dining experience. The cozy atmosphere with the fireplace was the perfect place to unwind in the evenings. Beyond the main departments, the amenities at the resort were top-notch. I loved using the outdoor spa pools, which were a fantastic way to relax and soak in the beautiful mountain views. I also enjoyed a few rounds of billiards in the communal area. The free Wi-Fi was reliable and a huge plus, allowing me to stay connected and plan my daily adventures. The location is unbeatable, with the resort acting as the perfect base for exploring everything Methven has to offer, from the stunning Rakaia Gorge to the charming village shops. We recently had a fantastic stay at Methven Resort and couldn't wait to share our experience! From the moment we arrived, the management impressed us with their helpfulness and accommodating nature. The resort itself was impeccably clean, and the housekeeping staff did a magnificent job keeping our room fresh and inviting throughout our stay.

Speaking of the room, it was a great size – plenty of space to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. It was also well-equipped for both comfort and productivity. The heater kept us warm and cozy, and the TV provided entertainment options. The desk and chair were perfect for catching up on some online work, which was made even better by the resort's super fast internet – a lifesaver for remote workers! For those who like to prepare light meals or snacks in the room, the kettle was a welcome amenity, and the fact that they were able to lend us a microwave upon request went above and beyond our expectations.

We came to Methven as were booked on the Adventure hot air balloon and intended to stay at Methven Resort for two nights, but ended up staying for three. There were plenty of activities in and around the township and it was always lovely to come back to our nice warm room which was a spacious deluxe studio with a super comfortable king size bed, a sofa and coffee table. The manager Richard and staff are great, very friendly and helpful and the free continental breakfast was a real treat with the dining room looking out to the snow capped mountains. The location of the resort is very close to the township which has plenty of eateries.
