Absolutely thrilled to share our exhilarating experience with Adventure Balloons in Methven! From the moment we booked online, the anticipation for our hot air balloon ride soared, and we were not disappointed.

A few days before the flight, another reminder email with essential details like the meeting point, attire suggestions, and a rundown of what to expect ensured we were well-prepared.

Upon arrival at the meeting location, we were impressed by the easy accessibility and ample parking. The Adventure Balloons team welcomed us warmly, setting the tone for an incredible journey ahead.

The balloon setup was a spectacle in itself - the process was efficient and carried out with expertise. Before we knew it, we were gently rising above the magnificent Canterbury plains. The panoramic views were awe-inspiring; every glance in any direction revealed breathtaking vistas, making us feel like we were in a dream.

As first-time hot air balloon adventurers, the experience was beyond our expectations. Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in this unique way made it even more special. To cap off the flight, sharing a toast with a glass of bubbles alongside fellow passengers was a delightful touch that added to the celebration.

A bucket list item ticked off. We had an excellent experience flying with Adventure Balloons NZ. Excellent staff customer service. We experienced how daily they checked the weather and had to be flexible where they could inflate the balloon to take off in one of the many fields in Methven. Nice to hear about the years of experience of the pilot, how they're training younger staff coming through and how they've built relationships with the local farmers to set up and land in their fields. The peace and quiet up so high as we floated, was a phenomenal feeling. Outstanding views over the Canterbury plains, Methven area and surrounding Southern alps - loved everything, thank you for this opportunity. We had an unforgettable experience with Methven Adventure balloons on Christmas Day. Graham, our ballon pilot and Storky picked us up and drove to our takeoff area. Graham was very professional and clear on all the safety instructions and was excellent on our trip. The balloon goes up very slowly so it was exciting, although do not look down. When the balloon is high up it’s very quiet and peaceful and the views are amazing. We admit we were a bit apprehensive at first but talking to Graham really put us at ease - he is really an expert and great pilot and host.
