Mt Hutt Motels — Hotel in South Island

We received a very warm welcome when we checked in for our one night stopover. Our room was older style, but was clean and well equipped, and we liked the character of the place. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was fine for us to cook our evening meal. A beautiful property- with lovingly kept lawn , surrounded by flowers of all colours. It’s no exaggeration when it mentions that it boasts of award winning gardens and lawns. We spent a lot of time just admiring the arrangement of flower beds. The room was great too - very spacious and nicely laid out . Had everything that we needed. Only downside was that we could hear muffled sounds from our next door neighbours - but it wasn’t too bad. The owners are so nice...

We only stayed one night however I was struck by how well the unit we stayed in would suit a stay of a week or more. It is a little dated however the benefit of this is the available space inside and out. There was plenty of storage in all areas; kitchen, bathroom and living/bedroom area.
